capstone is right we better stick to DLU cause we never get good lb's

He didn't say that. He is saying 2 good classes of LBs doesn't make us LBU. It's obvious that LB has been a weaker point of our defense for a while. Glad Chavis is recognizing that and putting in work.

I disagree. I think we need a stout MLB. It seems like we have been having OLB bodies at the MLB position.

Great get with Jones. Top 5 in the state easily. Should have been one of the 1st offers but it worked out anyway. MLB all the way to start but his ability to play 4-5 different spots is what makes a kid like him so valuable.

Jefferson will be in this class no matter when he goes public. I get the feeling he and Les already have an agreement in place. Just not ready to publicize it yet. May not be long.

Not only Avery Johnson from Blanche Ely, but his brother Patrick Peterson. May be a small sample, but hopefully it's a pipeline in the making

A pipeline would be nice too but my main point was that only 1 year apart and Robinson being the best CB on the HS team I would guess, then you know that Avery Johnson knows Robinson very well from practicing against him. If you are an LSU coach and respect Johnson's opinion and he says that Robinson is a bad arse CB, my guess is that goes a long way to develop at least initial interest in the guy. And the best news is that since these players were not in the same recruiting class, this obviously can't be a "package deal" if he signs with LSU. I don't think Miles is a "package deal" coach anyway, but there are several coaches out there who are.

I jsut find it hard to believe (and don't) that R. Jefferson has a "saved" spot" when you consider that there are elite players in positons of need we could still be in the hunt for...
Sooo, if it comes down to a last slot and it's between a decommitted R. Nkemediche, for example, and RJ, RJ gets the nod?
Les is going to do the best thing for the program, and that almost always means going for a clearly better recruit.

Of course you are correct. BTW, you see some people saying "making room" and acting like the 85 limit is the problem talking about attrition, etc. The 85 limit is NOT the problem here. The REAL problem is what the SEC did about 2 years ago when S Carolina and Ole Miss and Alabama to a lesser degree were signing 28 to 30 to 33 players and making the conference look foolish! The SEC put in the ALMOST loophole free 25 signee limit. Thus, you can't FUDGE the numbers anymore to any degree. If you could, we know that little Nicky would not have looked like a scumbag last year when he had to dump 2 guys on signing day and that was very bad publicity for him. Soooo, anyone who honestly believes that a good WR has a saved spot at LSU is living in the past. 3 years ago I would have definitely agreed...not any more. They can't afford to take non-qualifiers and also can't afford to gamble on NSD decisions unless they are under 25 to begin with.

Without a secondary guy in your final 8, I give that the OPPOSITE of a Where is the thumbs down eomoticon anyway? The assumption of course is that Jefferson would stay at WR...a couple of posters has said he would be moved to DB.

I'm pretty sure he's gonna play DB but you're free to replace Neal with Likely

Toss in Rashard Robinson, and that looks great. Don't think LSU gets both Gilmore/Pagano, but one can hope. If the staff steals Priest Willis or even Artie Burns, this haul could be sick. Getting Jones in the fold lets the coaches concentrate a little more on Beckwith.

This class just gets better and better

I could care less we lost the we to a&m because we will have the #1 wr in the 2013 class
Then u throw in Jefferson, smith, and Williams

These LA BOYZ like Jones and diarse will make sure these 3 stay at home to play

Some say I'm jumping the gun but I don't think

I agree with that, but I will admit to one huge ignorance on MY part with recruiting. I have no idea what happens IF Neal who is supposed to be deciding early says YES to LSU. If LSU would rather have Prevot and Williams and Gilmore, etc, etc, etc, what the heck do you say to Neal? I consider myself a pretty good recruiting guy but I will admit I don't have a clue what happens in that situation. I did finally figure out and others have also that most of these SUPPOSED LSU offers to recruits are either conditional or with time expirations. I knew there was some catch because almost every recruit I bring up has Tennessee as an offer. I swear according to the recruiting services, Tennessee must have 200+ offers out there IF the services are telling the truth. So obviously, there is something else going on like I described above.

Anyway, if someone has an answer for a "awkward commit", I would love to hear how LSU coaches would handle that.
