There's an article on Rivals with Evans saying he wants to visit LSU and that we're in the mix.Knowledge is power my friend. You can't read just the homer articles in recruiting. They're slanted. It doesn't matter much though as his recruitment will mirror all the major MS kids recruitments.Long and full of drama.Hopefully Nick James doesn't follow this same pattern.

I don't think LSU has shown much interest in him though.
I could be wrong.

We are certainly in it for Evans.

And Memphis, I did some research on Kiante and it didn't seem like there was a lot of LSU interest there

Assuming Bama offers & pushes for Kelton Brackett, that is going to be a tough pull for LSU. 1st, Blount HS has always been good to Alabama, & their current HC is former Bama S Kelvin Sigler who has remained close to the Alabama program, Sigler will "encourage" Bama the whole process, plus Blount just named Chris Samuels as their OC. Chris has a nephew who plays at Fairhope, Kyron Suamuels, who repeatedly said his uncle won't let him go anywhere but Bama, & Samuels will also add to the pressure to attend Bama. LSU will have no problems landing top flight CB's, but pulling someone from Blount will difficult.

While I agree, we just had a Thorpe winner that is idolized by young CB's all over the country right now.

Both Brackett and Chris Humes love PP.

Both LOVE LSU right now. Key word is right now, but it's not like it was brackett's first trip either. He has been to LSU 3-4 times now.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Kyron Samuels commit at the next Junior Day.

Alabama has been slow to offer DBs in the 2012 class, but Kelton Brackett will get one soon I would imagine. The Mobile area has always been a major priority for Alabama.

Kelton Bracket I believe already holds offers from LSU and Bama, I think he said after camp they gave him a verbal offer last year

Here is quote from Brackett from Feb 1

quote:

"Coach Pruitt told us that our class will be important," Brackett says. "He said Alabama would lose some DBs, so we would have to come in and start playing early. He knows I can cover real well. He said they might offer me soon."

No offer yet, according to virtually every Alabama recruiting board I follow. That should change by Alabama's next Junior Day.

I like this and agree. A Thorpe award winner should help on the recruitment of great DB prospects.

It helps, but it doesn't insure it. If that was the case, Alabama would have added Curtis Grant or Tony Steward to LB haul, after Rolando McClain won the Butkus.

Winning an award only has a 1 year effect on recruiting. McClain's effect expired after last year

it happens to pretty much any small town with a "star" prospect on here. Montrell Conner was going straight to da pros, frick LSU according to his hometown folks.

Rivals had a video a while back I thin that had Nick James placing Bama as his leader.

His performance at the AA combine was pretty sick

I see your point, but I think there may be some misunderstanding. I think that it still helps with prospects when you win these awards.

I also don't believe it necessarily needs to be the top 2 guys at the position each year. Bama signed 2 real good LBs in Calloway and Depreist. The top 2 aren't guaranteed to be the top 2 best players once they compete at the NCAA level. I guess what I am saying is if LSU signs 2 CBs each year at the level of Depreist and Calloway (Top 50 or even 100 overall) due to PP7 Thorpe Award, I would be thrilled.
