You spelled Joe Burrow wrong
ETA: Also, to your original post, Cam didn't even play one game against a ranked opponent before going to Auburn.

Small, not a physically imposing QB, something that I think matters in the SEC
Stetson Bennett won back-to-back NCs playing at the same size. I like a bigger QB too, but this guy is blazing fast and can make any throw on the field.
Also, he led UW to 9 wins as a true sophomore with a badly injured offense. Only one other player (a lineman) on offense played the whole year uninjured. He was having to do everything himself a lot of the time. The dude is already producing with little around him and has a ton of potential with better players around him and a better scheme.
As for PR, LSU could give all proceeds from football this year to charity and still get destroyed by the media. They hate Lane for leaving Ole Miss when he did and want to see him tank. The PR stuff is irrelevant. Did Lane and LSU lending OM our coaches make the media go easier on them? No.

I’ll make sure and tell Lane, I’m sure he’s going to want to know what you think

You need to check your stats re: Williams vs ranked teams. Per Williams’s ESPN player profile UW played 3 ranked teams: Ohio State, Illinois, and Oregon. In those 3 games his team was 1-2. He was 59-85 passing (69.4%), 582 yards for avg of 194yds/gm (Mendoza averaged 229 yds/gm for the yr) with 6 TD passes and 2 INT’s. He rushed (includes 10 sacks) for 65 yds on 33 carries.
His passer rating against Ohio State was 147.9; Arch Manning’s passer rating for the year was lower at 144.9.
Anybody can cherry pick data, but at least be accurate about it.

2. More importantly - are we sure he’s actually that good? Demond Williams against ranked teams this season
63% completion
511 yards
2TD
5INT
Rushing
28 carries
-20 yards
0 TDs
Oh and didn’t score against Wisconsin. Putrid QBR vs good teams in B10 play this year.
You wanted Sorsby, right? Am I right?
Vs Nebraska 13/28 68 yards (52%) 1 int, he did run for almost 100 and 2 TDs, but he threw it 28 times for 68 yards.
Vs Utah 11/33 221 (33%) 1 TD 1 int he ran for about 30 and a TD
Vs Arizona 15/33 154 (53.6%) 1 TD 2 int, 30 rush yards 1 TD
You want to see Leavitt vs none Big 12 competition? This is him vs Miss St twice and Texas
Miss St 1st 10/20 (50%) 69 yards, 68 rush yards 2 TDs
Miss St 2nd 10/22 (45.5%) 82 yards 1 TD 2 int, 25 rush yards
Texas 24/46 (52.5%) 221 yards 1 int, 60 rush yards
Other than Williams' Wisconsin game, all his bad games were vs defenses better than or equal to the Texas defense Leavitt played. None of those below average Big 12 defenses.
Now think of taking that amazing talent, and get coached by Kiffin and having a top class of pass catchers? If you watched some of those games, they were swarming him, but also, his receivers could not get open. Kiffin's offense is all about scheming guys open.

I wish he was taller than 5’11”. How do you see over 6’6” linemen. Serious question

Trust the process
You people are becoming more delusional than ever. Everyone spouts: Trust the process. I trust CLK's evaluation skills.
We're replacing 3 and 4 star players mostly with guys from inferior programs who were rated 3 stars at best out of high school. Everyone thinks that CLK will magically make these guys upper echelon SEC caliber players. I just don't see this turning out out well for the time being - for at least 2-3 years.

He’s not Dew Brees, I get it. Drew is one inch taller and completed 29/30 passes on 12/16/19 against the Colts.
Williams takes deep drops. A helmet is typically about 9-10 inches wide. There are 5 OL and 4 OL typically; that’s 81-90 inches total helmet width, or roughly 7-7.5 feet on the line blocking his vision (assuming no syzygy of helmets) out of about a tackle-to-tackle 12-14 feet (my estimate). So he has about 50% viewing lanes (considering some syzygy). But he doesn’t ever see over the heads of upright linemen, except for sky (outdoors of course).

Man hush...Some of you sicken me, Letting these trolls get in your head with these narratives. The dude was the ONLY talent they had on that offense... a sophomore, no help and still was a problem. This man is a beast, otherwise why is Washington crying so much? Why sign him for 4 million when u have a limited collective. Get him here with Kiffin and Weis with some weapons he can do more than the D2 Qb who you guys think is td Jesus... lol

Do Sam Leavitt’s against Mississippi state and in general this year. Pair that on top of coming off an injury.
Look at JD5’s size, dude was skinny, and won a heisman at LSU. Look at his stats his last year at Arizona state….
Look at Chambliss before Ole Miss.
Pavia is a small guy, whipped our arse still…
Stats can’t be the only thing you look at. Yes he struggled against some good teams, but a lot of times young qbs do, especially when their team just isn’t as good. I think he might not be the best fit for some offenses, but perfect for Kiffins! You don’t have teams like LSU, Oregon, and Miami after you if you’re not good. Also if he wasn’t good his current team wouldn’t be throwing a fit about him leaving.

Just sit back, have a beer- and trust in Kiffin’s judgement more than your own.
