Both for reliable depth at center this year and securing the center position for next year.

Boom worthy IMO

Could he play another position or is he only center?

He could, but ideally he won’t

Isn't Braelin Moore coming back? I promise you if this guy is one of our best 5, he's not sitting the bench. They'll slide him to one of the guard spots unless Moore is hurt.

Agree. Bring him in and let him compete/push Moore. Moore was hurt a lot in 2025 and Chester was not a good back up. It’s almost impossible to build depth let alone starters for the next year

He has only played C, and has been pretty poor in his limited snaps.

Yeah his grades were pretty bad for the few snaps he did take

Per 247 Sports he played offensive tackle in high school so he could project as a starting guard/backup center.

Dude was a freshman. Center is an extremely difficult position for a young inexperienced o lineman to play. That experience he got though is invaluable moving forward

all the more reason he should play guard until he is adept at snapping the ball.
