But like it was stated pre capita NORTH wins.

the north was on top of 5A for like 10-12..thats no longer the case.

as far as other classes, the south has dominated the title winning during that same time. ESP when Evangel moved up from 3A

who are the N LA players doing things in college? Like not just backing up, but actually playing

Do you seriously expect me to list all the North LA players that are in D1? Up until a few years ago the South dominated the D1 production at the skill positions and the North produced mostly lineman. In the past 5 years or so North La has produced more D1 talent at the skill positions while maintaining their lineman production. FWIW I'm from South La and definitely support the SOuth over the North but just calling like I see it.

Just a casual observation...N.La. FB players are generally taller than S.La. players. Maybe just one inch per kid...but you're talking about thousands over the years. It's gene pool. People north of Ville Platte are a bit taller than people south of VP.

clean, dont you think there are more kids in the south that never make it to the game friday nights that do in north LA?

you can tell by looking at the seniors on a given team. i know the school i went to, we would have like 10 seniors cause nobody liked the coach and theres more shite to do here in lafayette that kids in ruston for example.

between nola and lafayette there is so much talent that never plays because they care about things other than football as apposed to north LA kids that have nothing else to do but play football. its like in texas where there is nothing to do but play football.

okay, I guess John Curtis and several Acadiana area schools suck.

Trust me there is the same problem in North La extreme talent not playing on fridays due to a variety of reasons. I played with a guy named Josh Manning who was 6'5 270 (4.6 40)DE that was the best high school defensive player I've ever seen and he never made due to grades and a lsck of maturity. Hell Billy Green, who has the national high jump record for high school, never played a varsity down and didn't finish his senior year. The guy was 6'4 and could play WR or FS, but chose not to because he didn't care for the coach. He was a freak. He could jump 7'6 and run in the 4.4 range. There was no one who would have stopped him. A lot of it has to do with how the community supports the coaches and what parents push. Childress had everyones respect and after he retired guys like these 2 became more frequent. Bastrop is a great example of a community that always had loads of talent that never saw the field until Bradshaw showed up and got the support and push needed to get those guys on the field.

I think North LA produces more high quality athletes but I think overall the smarter football is played in South LA if that makes sense.

No, I just want to know the ones that are making an impact.

Or some recent ones to get picked int he NFL draft.

I mean Super Bowl champions and the best teams in the NFL are littered with South LA HS football players. Whoever laughed at that is an idiot.

Whitworth, Anthony Thomas, Booger McFarland, Bradie James, Hester, the Bootys are a few but I really think as far as D1 talent that is in college now ...North LA is starting to pull even with the South and when you look at the population difference its glaring.

I'd be willing to bet there is not that big of a gap in the numbers, here's a few off the top of my head:

A. Whitworth
B. James
M. Green
K. Wright
P. Ramsey
A. McFarland
Williams ( DT for the Vikings)
K. Williams
J. Hester
theres also the former Evangel DT that went to Texas Tech
B. Carmody
E.Edwards
Niswanger
Wroten

Kevin Faulk-Carencro
LaBrandon Toefield-Independence
Domanik Davis-Breaux Bridge
Michael Clayton-Baton Rouge
Peyton Manning-NOLA
Eli Manning-NOLA

So, what's your fricking point....the South has PLENTY of great athletes.

Without a doubt. Look at how they streamrolled all opposition. Mauled Westgate, which was on a great run. Dominated the final vs. Acadiana - and swept that tough-as-nails Bayou District.

The team remains somewhat underrated b/c Destrehan had not been known for winning state titles.

By the same token, Bastrop would be a solid matchup. Those two teams were the best in the state.

the players from the north (Whitworth, Niswanger, etc.) are predominatley lineman. I concede that the south has a skill position advantage- Doucet, the brthers Manning, etc., but the north has consistently out produced the south in elite caliber big guys.
