think I saw a quote over there that said if he were to become the coach at T, than his son would NOT follow him.
this is not necessarily true, IF he gets the job, there's a very good chance Janzen follows his dad

Kiffin is a punk. Now we'll get to see it much clearer. He is a Trojan product, what else would you expect?

Of course you're going to say that, if you have any pride and want a chance to get the job straight up. But if he does get the job, we all know JJ will follow...who wouldn't follow their dad?

Using that logic, he would have originally committed to McNeese...., you know, to follow his dad.

It looks a bit shady from the outside but Orgeron and Kiffin both have a connection with his dad, Monte gets the final say and if he wants him I will trust his judgement.

It is shady. Orgeron is shady. And apparently Kiffin is a sleazebag too.

Have you noticed how many new SEC coaching hires have been geared toward getting a foot in the door in La? O, Frank Davis is now at MS St, and of course little Nicky the past 2 years from AL. Les has got to win big and recruit to keep these guys out of our backyard.

I'm pretty sure Nick Saban hired O.P. Walker's high school coach in 2002/2003 so he could sign Craig Davis, Dominic Cooper and Daryl Johnson.

thought Orgeron (Ole Miss) hired Frank Davis from OP Walker b/c Davis could influence kids from NOLA.

Saban basically made Wilson think he was getting the job, the kids magically switched to LSU and then Saban just never gave Wilson the job.

From what I remember he was told he would get the job here and was "hired" and a week later he took the job as AD for Orleans School system. I think that's why he didn't go back to O.P. Walker because they had already replaced him.

I remember people saying Daryl Johnson would be the Next Ed Reed. Whatever happened to that kid?

He did say that. From what I've read most seem to think this is almost a friend helping a friend type of thing so that Janzen's dad can get some exposure. He and O have some history at McNeese.

As a TN fan I think Janzen is solid to LSU, but I'm extremely encouraged by the fact that this staff has gotten him to at least come up to UT for a visit this weekend. Especially since these coaches got in on him so late.

Per Dandy Don:

quote:

Guidry (Jackson's Father) has said that he will not bring his son if he is hired to coach defensive backs for Lane Kiffin and if that is the case I do not believe Guidry will be hired.

I went to McNeese & I held season tickets there a long time. I was fortunate enough to witness Lance Guidry's defensive prowess as a DB coach and DC. I have to check my facts but I do not think any DC in MSU history gave up more 50 point games as the now very hip Mr. Guidry. His secondaries never impressed me and his time as head coach at Crow-town when Mac was on vacation was equally unimpressive. If it would take LSU signing his dad to get a DB like J.J. in Baton Rouge I say let him go to Rockytop. We just got rid of our dead weight last month we don't need another under qualified coach.

Tenn will be on probation in the near future. Makes one think what is happening over at SC and if these guys have brought their bad recruiting habits with them to Tenn.
