Dereliction of duty seems to be the new norm in the United States of America:

2 things can be true, Adidas pays Keys and Tennessee. Adidas also pays Jeremiah Smith a lot more than Keys. Nike pays Ohio St. Was the Adidas tie in a factor, an excuse or both? Guess we will never know. Precedent says it wouldnt matter to Adidas where he suits up. Kelly dropped the ball and Tennessee outbid everyone. The latter is all that really mattered. Miami, another major suitor of Keys and Smith, is an Adidas school as well. We know they throw money around. Not enough in those 2 cases and that mattered more than what apparel company pays them.

At every stop Kelly won at the highest level.. Got ND Very close to championship contention.. when it was difficult to recruit top talent to a shite hole.. pre nil.. difficult academic standards.. If a generational talent at QB doesn't transfer to LSU he would have lost 4-5 games every season of his tenure.. the SEC exposed him.. the talent Gap isn't huge like 80% of a typical ND schedule. He made horrible staff decisions.. CBK was known for developing Oline and TE.. Nuss was hurt ok.. But how else do you explain how bad the oline and TE Play other than not being locked in. No effort to connect with today's young athletes.. No effort recruiting one of the More fertile recruiting states.. Coach O literally won a natty just grinding as a recruiter w nowhere near the coaching ability as Kelly. He should owe LSU money not the other way around

Easy to blame the man now after he got fired.

But could you envision Brian Kelly jumping on the MMR Jet and chasing down Sam Leavitt in Knoxville at the 11th hour to pull him back into this class?

Neither can I.

Exactly. This was all about money. Anyone who believes anything different is not being honest with themselves. Of course the player isn’t going to say “I just couldn’t pass up the offer from Tennessee”.

I'm no Kelly defender, but he presided over the best TE play this century lol.

OL was awful, but Taylor/Green are as good as we've ever had.

Coach - 20%
Money - 30%
Brand - 30%
Distance from Home - 20%

Something close to that for Most of the Players

But different things count more to others...
