Surprised nobody has mentioned this already, but I think it means the 247 rankings have a new #1, not necessarily the 247 Composite. But the composite will be affected by the new 247 rankings. Currently 247 has CRob #1, but apparently that will change. Could still be Fournette.

Amazing how much weight they put into the UA week now. DEs always do extremely well because OL is one of the hardest positions to transition from HS to the next level.
Outside of a handful of freaks on the OL, it is easily the most difficult position group to rank at the HS level. The services miss on those prospects more than any others.
In short, a good DE can make what people think are good OL look silly in the game and a good portion of those OL are really never very good players at the next level.
The opposite is true for positions like RB and CB where pure athleticism pops off the field (ala Peppers this year) and the transition to the next level is not as difficult.

Yeah I get you, my man. It's gotten out of hand. I'm on my last leg and I'm only 23 I've been following it religiously for 5 years, but Jan 2nd broke me. I will still pay the $10 bucks to 247 because they write up good articles, but I'm backing off big time
I'm 28...and you sound like a young me.
Do yourself a favor and don't pay for those sites. (warning: When I was your age...)I remember occasionally stalking the RB and most definitely on NSD. But don't get so wrapped up in it. It all boils down to the ability of our coaching staff to develop the recruits talents. This is why some 2* and 3* end up being studs and some 4* and 5* end up being busts IMO. We have a great recruiting class this year and it's not even over yet.

I assumed the "new #1 overall" part was talking about the composite ranking
You could be right

Yep
That's because it's the most fundamentally sound position outside of QB, but with the most growth/body change.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's 247's new #1 but no way is he new composite. He's #8 on 247 and #10 on composite right now. No way he could move to #1 without other services bumping him significantly.

Where is he on Rivals, ESPN, and Scout?

OL is the one position group where someone can start making a somewhat legitimate claim that "stars don't matter". Compared to other positions, OL is a crap shoot where development and strength and conditioning are everything.
It is also difficult because guys that aren't athletic enough to be a TE can add 60 lbs and become an all-world OT. A DT that doesn't work out can move to OG and become a terrific player. It is just a cluster for the sites to try to project.

Joseph Barksdale 5* defensive lineman moved to the offensive line

and the drills favor the DE because they are attacking a stationary target without the threat of run or screen.

#27 on Rivals
#4 on ESPN
I don't see an easy list on scout but he's at the bottom of the first page. Maybe 20th or so.

Best move he ever made considering his current paycheck and career.

I read this as jc butthurt. This damn site has my brain warped.
Wasnt he the one that accused LSU fans of being butt hurt?
ETA: So they are going to bump Fournette from a 101? Or are they adding a 3rd 101, that would pass up a previously considered 101, in their final rankings. Certainly seems suspect.

I doubt it's Cam Robinson. No one came away from the AA game that impressed with him.
I'm thinking Myles Garrett.
