Ole Miss fan here. Some depth pieces will enter, especially in the secondary I think. The main one LSU will be interested in is WR Winnie Watkins. Played some as a true freshman this year and flashed. He and McDonald are tight and we expect him to be in BR next year. I think he will be a very good player.

If the thought is that Ole Miss will have major contributors hop in when the playoffs are over, that'd be a surprise since we've re-upped with just about every starter that's returning and a lot of the key depth contributors. But who knows these days.

Here's Winnie's 247 page:

Who are you talking about, Ole Piss or Miami?

Exactly.

Who besides Trinidad and Lacy did Ole Miss “re-up”?
I don’t follow Ole Miss so I’m curious.

OM D line will have trouble with the Miami run game. The game will hinge on Miami time of possession and keeping the OM offense off the field.

Who knows. I hope they lose but Chambliss looks like a man on a mission right now.
We need to get some o-lineman stat. Currently Casper the friendly ghost will be starting next year for our o-line

I’m curious

Are you happy that yall are paying Lacy 2+ million bucks?

Or is that number exaggerated

Agreed I think that is the matchup to watch. Can Miami hold the ball long enough and consistently put points on the board.

Some big plays from Miamis defense will be key too. We know Ole Miss can score in a heart beat, but will Miami be able to take the ball away or stop the momentum? We will soon find out

A lot. I'm not doing anything at work though so I'll list the ones the football Twitter account has announced:

QB: Chambliss (pending waiver)
RB: Lacy
WR: Deuce Alexander, Caden Lee
TE: Luke Hasz, Caleb Odom
OL: Patrick Kutas, Brycen Sanders, Devin Harper, Terez Davis (LSU was after Kutas, Harper, and Davis)
DL: Will Echoles, Kam Franklin, Jam Brown
LB: Princewill Umanmielen, Suntarine Perkins (LSU was after Umanmielen)
DB: Antonio Kite, Jaylon Braxton, LD Clardy

Kicker and punter both re-upped but were pursued by Lane.

It's less than $2m. The Lacy resigning was very interesting. He actually ended up booting his agent over it for withholding information.

If Lacy stays healthy, it will be worth it. I think he's the #1 RB off the board in the 2027 draft. I posted this on the coaching changes board when I thought he was heading to LSU so I promise it's not a biased opinion.

He's turned chicken shite into chicken salad so many times this year in the run game, he catches the ball well out of the backfield, and he is the most tenacious RB in pass pro I've ever seen. I was pleased to see ThatFilmGuy from YT (UGA guy but unbiasedly reviews game film) call his pass pro abilities out.

Ole Miss will easily defeat Miami; their style differs from other teams Miami has faced. Petey's defense feast against pocket passers.

I'd be a little surprised if they easily beat them because Miami is very physical. I mean, aTm had a pretty high flying offense with a mobile QB averaging 36 PPG and Miami held them to 3 at aTm. Should be a good game. Neither team winning would surprise me much.

Ditto to everything Quicksilver said. If you view Lacy just as a plug and play RB, we might have overpaid. But if you view him as a central cog in a team and a leader by example, he’s more than worth it. He has what Miles would have called “the want.” That wild scramble play by Chambliss against UGA got all the attention, but it still needed a huge second effort by Lacy to move the chains. His play is a joy to watch and people will buy tickets to see him.

wouldn't count on it? I think they roll Miami tonight. I hate scUM but I have to pull for them to restore order. I just don't think they have to offense to match Ole Miss and the Rebs may only have to score in the mid 20's to win. I suspect that Cristobal will try to control the clock with his offense but it's hard to have any faith in Beck or his OC.

I completely agree. Ole miss will win tonight and prolong the lsu fans suffering

Pretty sure Ole Miss is going to be keeping majority of their roster that would be coming back.
