who are 6 that don't play?

I gotta think the most inexperienced freshmen are prime candidates. So, that's Barber, Jabari Mack, & Brayden Allen. Let's say Barber impresses enough that he does play & makes the group of 7, theoretically, that means Mack & Allen plus 4 others (returnees/transfers) might not. Who are they?

Phillip Wright?
Malik Elzy?
Tyree Holloway?
Josh Jackson?

Yeah no clue, but a good problem to have compared to where we were 3 weeks ago.

I suspect Barber and Mack will get some PT.

We have so many star gazers on this board. All of a sudden we have a bunch of threads about this kid and how great he will be because one of the recruiting websites gave him a 5-star rating. No one was talking about him before that.

OP is a notorious love-bomber however, we as LSU fans missed the buildup for Barber because he was a last minute flip.

He is really good, but there is a room full of veteran guys he will have to pass up.

One thing I love about throwing so many numbers at WR and OL with so few established starters—WR has none, OL only has 2—is the competition it will produce. There will be some that think they aren’t expected to start and will “settle” for being on the 2 or 3 deep. But there are others that realize nothing beyond ‘26 is guaranteed, will have a huge sense of urgency, and will take advantage of all the resources LSU provides and really run with the opportunity.

If they don’t get on the field in ‘26, there’s no guarantee they will in ‘27. There’s no guarantee they will even be retained in ‘27, as they’ll go out and get some portal guys after this season. Talent will rise to the top, but so will the “dawgs.” I think it will raise the level of play for everybody in those rooms. Spring should provide for some fierce battles. Will be exciting to watch play out.

I thought we didn’t care about WR rankings as long as they were from LA?

Gonna be tough treading these waters as a freshman.. Lane and staff really crushed it at WR.. Not just experienced guys. Or talent wo the production yet. But talented wrs that have produced at a high level w 3-4 years in CFB.. If he's a legit 5* talent we should see him emerge hopefully around week 4-5
