Only 6 runners reached 2nd base on Saturday. No one reached 3rd and they only had 1 extra base hit.
They never felt like a threat to score which is something I rarely say. Most of their traffic in game 1 was a walk or HBP.

I may have missed one, but I don’t recall coastal having any 1-2-3 innings. I think they had at least one runner on base in every inning of the finals. If not all 18, at least 17? Can anyone confirm or deny this?

9th inning was not “1-2-3” but was the min batters. Hit, K, DP.
Eh it was 1-2-3 in my mind

They are a scrappy team. Braswell at 3rd ruined their bunting plans.

In total LSU allowed 19 baserunners in 18 innings. 2 were HBP so the actual WHIP by the pitchers was around 0.95. I would rather allow 1 runner per inning and have zero 1-2-3 innings than have 8 perfect innings and allow 9 runners to get on base in the ninth.

LSU did itself much credit sweeping that team.

The 8th inning of the Sunday game (Game #2) Coastal Carolina went 1-2-3.
Mitchell struck out swinging
Pado struck out swinging
Thorndyke grounded out to 2b
Game #1-Saturday game, 6th inning, 1-2-3
Mitchell flied out to lf

Thorndyke lined out to lf

Thanks for the replies.
I think it goes to show…
1. Just how scrappy their team was
2. (More importantly) how nails our defense/pitching was to only allow scores in 2 of 18 innings
