Cody? Just run past him... we have fast backs that can get around him...

Ingram... he could be a problem. We have to stuff the run early and force a passing game. McElroy is likely their biggest liability on offense, we have to force him to throw the ball early.

get our backs on dbs with double tight end sets and off tackle traps..wideout crack backs and north-south running. get dickson involved early with quick slants and I formation play action seam routes. slot Shepard for drag routes and counter plays...shelve the option and the 'stop and look' crap. formulate a plan based with timing, flow and the confidence to execute when the Tigers break huddle. Defensively, I think it's pretty much as simple as that.

On Offense, I think we're going to find it difficult to run. But, if we can get them to man up on the receivers, which Saban likes to do, I think we have an advantage. But, JJ will need to get rid of the ball quickly against this defense.

Yes indeedy. They will fail. Then they will fail again. But I think Les has finally learned he cant run up the middle on anyone this year and he wont push it too much. I think JJ will throw a lot. We'll live and die by the pass.

We probably wont. Maybe we'll slow it down though.

A little enthusiastic on the prediction? Seeing how the most points scored on us was VT at 24 and the most scored on us from the SEC being UK at 20. I do however agree that this will be a battle.

Here's to a great game!

This plus throw the ball long. Saban coaches the db's to run with the wr. They don't turn to look for the ball.

Cody is definitely a huge factor, but really the answer is right there. Not the entire time but some plays do it in a hurry up style. Cody will be sucking wind by the 2nd quarter.

This is what the Broncos did to Gilbert Brown in the 97 super bowl

The Defense will be fine. Bama's offense is one dimensional and that will be a big problem for them IMO.

Then we AIR it out big time. We cannot run the ball whatsoever, (which is a total mystery to me)so why even try against that Defense. We have to try to let JJ get into a groove and move the ball downfield w/ our receivers. Then once we est. the pass, maybe go back and try to get some production out of the run. Just me two cents tho.

So for Bama:

- How do we contain and run against Cody and their Defense? I feel the runs up the middle will fail and JJ will be pressured if he has to sit back there or run an option.

- How do we stop Ingram and the Bama run game. I feel we will shut down the passing game but will they be able to run all over us? I think we have to take a chance and focus everything on the run with extra men on line and blitzing. If we can force Bama into a passing game, I think we can get turnovers.

1) You can contain Cody by running out of 2 tight end sets. Richard Dickson and Mitch Joseph are good blockers. Run off tackle rather than right up the middle at Cody. Cody, for all his publicity, does not move very well as he is overweight and not in great shape. Most plays, you could draw a circle around him prior to the snap and by the time the play is over, he will not have moved out of that hypothetical circle. Run a couple of slots down the line away from him and make him have to move, if he can.

Also, work in some end arounds, quick throws to the TE and screen plays to take advantage of Bama's pursuit.

2) As for your second question, put PP on Julio Jones and allow your other 10 defenders to key on the run. Utilize run blitzing, but do not become too reliant upon it. LSU will have to do a good job of fighting off of blocks, play solid fundamentally. When Bama lines up in the wildcat formation, whether its Ingram or Trent Richardson taking the snap, it is highly likely either of them is going to keep the ball once he has it in his hands, so you have to key on the guy taking the snap.

Better teams like Fla and Tenn were successful running against Buma. Tenn outgained them by 100 yards, and would have won by 6 if their field goal kicker was not injured.

LSU's defense has been very successful. Personally, I'm wondering how that pitiful Buma offense is going to score at all.

JJ has been terrible running the option, I think if we "have to" call the option that Shep would be better to run it.

I agree that our defense should be very effective vs Bama, but look out at who we are calling a pitiful offense. Our offense isn't all that great, and I would feel blessed if LSU scores into the double digits. I think we win this game comfortably (like a 6 or 7 point game) if we score 14 or 17 points.

Are you insane? Both teams COMBINED won't score 34 points, much less just LSU. Two average offenses against two very good defenses does not equal a scoring orgy of over 60 points.

First we nned to play like we did against auburn but better no sloppyness no fouls. We must stop jones and ingram, peterson and d-line need to step up

offensively need new plays that hasnt really been used before so they wont know whats coming

if we do this we have a good shot at beating the gumps

Both of these two teams have not reached their potentual and I believe that this is the week I just believe that LSU will be better because of their speed which I believe is a faster overall team speed than Florida. Go back and watch them against Auby and you will see that LSU was 2-3 times faster than they where. This is the reason for the high score. I think Bama will be better in the first half and then LSU will take over in the second half tire-out the size of Bama. They will not be able to keep up with LSU's team speed and that team speed is what scares Saban the most especially on Defense.

That is why I say LSU 34 Bama 27 and have ever since last Saturday on every post except for maybe a couple did not pertain to the game but about someone off the field. You can go back and read all my post I have made since last Saturday for proof and here is the link: LINK

We have not been able to run up the middle this whole year anyway, so Cody is a waste. Play action pass with option to run i feel gives us the best chance to run. I do think Russell Shepperd is going to be a part of this game in a big way. Then play man to man and load up in the box against the run. Damn i am good

Pretty sure anyone who can run 5.0 can avoid that fat arse Cody.

I hear the team uses his helmet as a hot tub after practice and games.
