JD is not the problem with this team. Drops. No seperation from Thomas vs their #2. Only guy who got seperation was Nabers and it was still minor. Lack of a running game. Misuse of HP. Terrible game plan. Terrible play calling. JD was our best offensive player and it wasn’t close.

I don’t mind the points you’re making. Sometimes though I think Daniels chooses to try to run for 40 rather than pass for 40. Or 20.

I see your point. It is frustrating that we struggle throwing it deep. I suppose our lack of trying is a good place to start when trying to understand the struggle.

If I could run like Daniels, I would too. But deep balls can be just as or more exciting and even more effective

For misspelling a kids name? That is some petty shite.

But I think you know that's not the same as moving on to your future QB instead of riding out a dude that's in his last year of football at any level.

In that QB is the most important position on the field, I agree, it isn't the same. What I didn't agree with is doing it after only one more loss. Even with an additional loss, we are still playing for an SEC title. We lose 2-3 more games, and you have a point. Not to mention, losing 2-3 more games would likely be due to poor QB play, or at least the team needing a spark at QB.

What is silly about this entire argument, is that I believe Nuss is the better QB and should be getting playing time NOW because imo he will make the offense better. I just don't think Daniels being a senior should have anything to do with that decision unless you feel he doesn't give us the best chance to win the next game.

You're right, it was petty. But I've never seen a player's name misspelled more often than his, so it's become like nails on a chalkboard.

Problem here is, it could take up until the a&m game to get to 3 or 4 losses. So then what? You just had an 8-4 season but also didn't let Nuss loose at all? That sounds like the worst of both worlds.

And I don't mean we should move on from Daniels just because he's a senior. It's just another reason for why there's no point to keeping him in if we've already failed on our season's expectations.

It'd be like spending the rest of the year giving JD more film for his draft stock (which I believe is nonexistent) rather than getting our future QB's feet wet so he's ready to roll next year.

If it means we see Nuss and can pass downfield, hell yes. I normally can’t stand a 2 qb system but I’d love it here.

Terrace Marshall got to that point with me, so I get the pettiness.

This seems more likely than not as I thought we would go 9-3 to begin with. I feel like we know what Daniels is at this point for this team, and that is a 9-3/8-4 QB. I really hope we see a ton of Nuss on Saturday and Kelly pulls the ripcord on Daniels, but its not happening barring injury.

Yeah I enjoyed watching every play where he’d watch downfield and hold the ball until right before they ripped it out of his hand to make a move. No offense to him, but Daniels has had five years to develop.
It ain’t happening.

Nuss will get his chance. I hope it’s sooner rather than later.

The problem with this is that if you Kelly benched Daniels now, Daniels, being a rational individual, would immediately quit the team. Put on a redshirt. Hit the transfer portal and come back next year as the starter for Bama or Georgia or to be frank about it, literally any school in the country.

They both need to play, and I've been saying this all Spring/Summer. Nuss stretches the field which opens up the running game and short-medium passes. This isn't rocket science. Play the hot hand...
