i was there in the first row of the student section, which was about the 9th row because the kept the first 8 or so rows empty for reasons that escape me to this day

sorry,couldn't let that pass.
I remember reading or hearing that a day or so before the game Saban was having one of his temper tandrums over some insignificant matter and the OL coach George Yarno said something to effect,"ligten up coach, its bowl week".
Surprisingly,Yarno wasn't on the 2003 staff.

For sure the Tigers couln't cover Roy. The day before the game both university bands and cheerleaders were at the Fair Grounds for a parade and pep rally. The LSU band marched first and all cheered. Immediately the LSU fans turned their backs on the Longhorn band and walked toward thier own pep rally. It could have been planned but I still laugh about that.

i remember being too fricking cold to stand up and cheer during marcus randall's run ..
