So let me get this right, if we get Berry that would most likely move Doughty to 2nd. You honestly think Merrifield and Simon have better bats than Thompson and Doughty?
I'd also like to add that I dont know much about Merrifield other than he's a wizard with his glove

If Johnson can’t find someone better than Beloso and Milazzo, we are up a creek.

I really am, but truth be known I’ve known him a bit for awhile. Watched him play since 11u. As a scout once told me, “he plays like a Latino” and he’s got an unreal work ethic.
I've watched him a good bit in high school. The work ethic stands out. He's a gritty player. I just don't see him as a day 1 starter. I also don't see him as a guy that just never pans out. He'll be a big contributor to LSU baseball's success, somewhere, someway, somehow...and it may be on the mound.

My head hurts reading this thread
Respectively, you are a fricking idiot. Please respond to me so we can Internet fight because it won’t be a long one.

Ok now quote my second part for full context.
I don’t think he’ll be around to find out how good of a hitting coach Johnson is

Where is Safford Cranford and Sanfords spot on this team?? If we don’t pick up someone in the portal losing Arnold will be huge. I thought he had so much potential and not happy to see him go

I’d be surprised if either Cranford or Safford are getting any scholarship money at all

Idk what the lineup will be, but I know it won’t be that.
Here’s my best guess:
CF- Morgan
RF- Crews
1B- Berry
LF- Dugas
3B- Doughty
DH- Jobert
C- Moller
SS- Thompson
2B- merryfield

I don't think any of the incoming freshmen beat out Milazzo. Milazzo will improve at the plate. I mean, he can't get any worse. The big question for me is whether or not Kessler is in play - I'd think Vitello is at his hip but he'd have to have a tough conversation with Pavolony.

I personally don’t think Crews will or should be 1 or 2 in anyone’s lineup. The kid needs to hit either 3rd or 4th. Morgan or some other lefty needs to hit in the 2 spot. I think it’s always good to have a lefty for pulling balls to the right side of the infield early in the game if your lead off hitter gets on. Whoever hit’s lead off will need to be a good contact hitter with some speed. That could be either Morgan or some other Lefty. If Pearson is as good as advertised, he could come in and fill one of those spots. He is also a 6.5 60 runner. I agree with the analysis about Connor Simon. I am not sure if he will be a day 1 starter but I know the kid personally and no one will out work him. He will be the best fielding shortstop once he sets foot on campus. He can also pitch and that may end up being his pro position.
The way I see the lineup is
1B-Morgan. Lefty
LF-Pearson. Lefty
CF-Crews. Righty
2B-Berry. Switch hitter
RF-Doughty. Righty
DH-Drost/Jobert (whoever wins the position) Lefty/Lefty
C- Moller/Jensen (whoever makes it to campus). Righty/Lefty
3B-Merryfied Righty
SS- Thompson/Simon (whoever wins the position). Righty/Righty
A lot will depend upon the draft but I don’t believe Dugas stays. Berry could also play 3B and Simon could play either SS or 2B

Is Berry 100% coming here?

I believe he is coming. The only one from Arizona that I believe is guaranteed to be here.

It would be excellent to have our 9th hole hitter batting over 350!!!

It's possible when all said and done LSU could have 3 players from Arizona.
