Utah quick slanted Bama to death, which is something Tennessee was having success with yesterday.

Is shepard not part of our running game? I think in the running game every attempt plays a part when a back finally breaks one.

I have disagreed with those who find profound wisdom in the "if you take this play out of the game" theory my entire life.

If you take Curley hallman out of the nineties LSU would have been the 15th best program of the decade.

If Florida wasn't a state, Gore would have been President.

If my Mom and Dad had been sisters I would be my cousin.

We deal with facts .
The TOTALITY of facts, not the cherry-picked ones.

But I suggest you refuse to acknowledge the Epic-Shep- run. Be stubborn.

Be a Shep-denier.

you missed the OSU game they played in the Superdome in 07?

THe problem is that our running game is too predictable. If Scott is in, its a run up the middle. Holliday or Williams, its a run to the outside.

It doesn't matter if the other team "knows" we are going to run. Look at our offense in 2007, opposing teams, along with 12 million other people watching the game absolutely "knew" that Jacob Hester was going up the middle. It all comes down to the offensive line and the running back, that is the problem, not ENTIRELY the playcalling. How is Mark Ingram tearing teams up each week when "the other team knows Alabama is going to run most of the time"?

LSU's run blocking was shite yesterday. All is not well. Do you agree or disagree? It's great that Shepard broke a long one. That doesn't mean that LSU ran the ball effectively.

When it comes to strategy, do you think that coaches should put more weight on what happened 31 times or that one time?

my EXACT comments after beanie's run were, "i'm glad we got that out of the way early before we were rolling"

People just need to face the facts: for the first time in a very long time, LSU does not have the adequate personell to have a successful running game.

R Shepard 6 71 11.8 1
J Jefferson 12 26 2.2 1
C Scott 10 20 2.0 0
T Holliday 2 8 4.0 0
K Williams 1 4 4.0 0
B LaFell 1 -7 -7.0 0

total is 99 yards...

the 53 yards is misleading... where's the figure come from?

we didn't have a great running game... final score was 31 - 10...

i'm more frustrated in our failure to convert several scoring opportunities... we left at least 14 points on the table... jefferson should have a football duct-taped to the crook of his arm... on his touchdown and the fumble his fundamentals sucked.

Don't know about that, 06 team was arguably the greatest team LSU has ever had. Certainly one of the best teams to not win it all.

Good point, but this also means that Shepard has provided a spark for the running game and we need to use him more as a RB. IMO, Shepard needs to be on the field a lot more. He has proven he can take it to the house and he is the best chance to lift this running game by not only carrying the ball, but providing a decoy for Scott/Williams.

I do not EXPECT "all to be well".

I view SEC football circa 2009 like warfare-99% mistakes and catastrophes by both teams and then -BOOM-a 69 yard run.

See Bama and UF in recent weeks. Just putrid. Yet undefeated because of BIG PLAYS.

I do not HAVE THE EXPECTATION that we can CONSISTENTLY move the ball. Show me the conference team that CAN.

The SEC has shifted back to a dominant defensive league, and yet nobody seems to acknowledge this.

Pimp, as LSU fans we have to expect PERFECTION in all aspects of the game, anything less is settling for mediocrity. It especially hurts when there are so many other teams that are enjoying complete perfection right now, and knowing the fact that we could easily have it too if we would just go hire some of those perfect coaches...
