I was 5 years old when that first title happened, so I only have a few memories of watching the CWS, but wasn't nearly engaged enough in what was going on at that point to remember much of what happened or who anyone was. But I pretty much immediately recognized Paul Byrd's face in that picture. All these years later, he still looks the same.

There are some dudes who I don't see for ten years, and when I see them again, they look like a different person.

Funny you linked that considering it only has 2.6k views. I just watched that this weekend. It brought back some nostalgia. World went to shite in 2001. Then absolute shite in 2006 with the smart phone (as I type this from one).

He’s my neighbor- great family. We worked out together when we were both single or should I say I happened to be in the gym the same time as Chad

The greatest one of all time is the homerun in the bottom of the ninth. You will never change the thrill of that one. That is most of us the best thrill in sports for us.

I was a senior at LSU when they won it all in 1991. It's hard to express how big of a title that was. Football was at it's nadir. Basketball just had a few of the greatest ever to come through and had nothing to show for it.

Lyle Mouton was a beast and a nightmare for pitchers.

I was at the game. Of course, I was rooting for the Shockers. Was there in 1993 as well for the same results.

The thing I remember most was how loud and proud both WSU fans and LSU fans were and how all the other fans loved to bag on us…. As they packed up and went home. Made a lot LSU friends those 2 years. Quite a few I still call friends.

What a great memory. I still can see Chad Ogea dealing. Rick Greene closed it out as I recall.

1991 has a case to be one of the greatest years ever

I don't know if more has ever happened in a single year
