i agree. reid makes an incredible play on the ball. i like him more than laron because he actually has the height and reach to go up and make plays like that but is also stout enough to make trent richardson fumble. BEASST

quote:I dont see this. Im not disagreeing I just telling you that I personally dont see what you see. The last pic of him elevated (with Reid's leg kind of underneath him) shows him with 2 hands on the ball and Reid's hand kind of on/near the ball. I remember from the live replay that the ball was shifting around but I dont see that in these still photos.
it clearly shows the ball was moving around in his hands
PS -- Before someone starts arguing with me, I thought it was an INT so dont frick with me.

I wouldn't say this is considered coming down with the ball for bama... regardless it was an interception yielding a butthurt bama.

I don't understand why this keeps coming up. I've talked with tons of Bama fans about this game. Not one is bitching about this call. Including me. We all agree if it had been called a reception they wouldn't have overturned it. Just like they weren't going to overturn calling it a interception. It was an incredable defensive play. The refs did a great job. There were a few lated hits, some out of bounds etc. They knew going in these were the best of the best and they let them play. It was and still is a turnover.

I strongly disagree.
LINK is much better. Take a read. Football is just football.
The disagreement on this play and these pictures reminds me of a story about the 20th century theologian and philosopher Paul Tillich. He was speaking at the University of Chicago on "Baptist Day." He spoke for more than two hours, challenging the resurrection of Jesus. At one point, a old African-American preacher stands up. He's munching on an apple and asks Dr. Tillich whether the apple is bitter or sweet. Tillich tells the man that he can't answer the question because he hasn't tasted the apple. The old preacher then says, "Neither have you tasted my Jesus."

Man, I want that camera and lens. And yes, The T-P is the best paper on the planet.

Right.
When they showed that angle Danielson's sentiment changed from "they have to review this" to "that was an interception". Technology...

The ball has shifted and the bama player no longer has control

The video is more conclusive than these pictures. INT all thee way

this one sold it for me but, it was good to see the ones posted here.

this one sealed it for me

quote:This. When he's losing control he's not yet on the ground and on top of Reid's leg (not on the ground yet). When he hits the ground, he clearly has control of the ball. We argued the shite out of this yesterday.
TBH these photos dont show me a clear interception.

Can someone please explain to me what the frick is going on on Reid's shin on the last picture?
Posted on 11/9/11 at 4:00 pm to CottonWasKing
quote:The play is not over yet. The receiver maintains possession with both hands on the ball until he hits the ground, THEN Reid strips the ball. Hitting the ground effectively ends the play. What happens after that is a moot point.
