JJ is the odd man out any way it goes.
How can you be sure? I think it's very possible that JJ is better this time next year than Lee is right now.

Yeah, I bet everyone on the football team is really clamoring to hang around the LSU roller hockey team

FWIW & IMHO,
I think Lee is the starter next year, JJ is the back-up and Garrett gets the Redshirt. RS however plays the change of pace qb like RP did last with Lee starting and Shep coming in running the option with the occasional pass.
Think 3 to 4 years like last year or like Chris Leak/Tim Tebow. When Lee leaves it will be JJ and RS duking it out for PT with Garrett getting the Matt Flynn year.
My only worry is that Hatch is still in the conversation, which he shouldn't be.
again, FWIW & IMHO.

Lee does indeed have an arm but JJ is not as far behind him as far as arm strength as some think.

Good God. The kid has played pretty well overall. You MUST consider the entire year. How about the AU and USC game? Because without him LSU has no vertical passing threat and we lost those games.
everybody on here talks about Lee's verticle passing threat. and granted he has a way stonger arm the Hatch but obviouslt the coaches dont think to strongly of it bc WE NEVER THROW THE BALL DOWNFIELD.
Lee's touchdowns vs UGA were a dump passs/ screen and a swing pass. any quaterback can make those throws.
i honestly think shep can come in next year and beat him out. Hatch can run decently and Lee can throw decently. Shep however is electric running with the ball and has greatly improved with his passing as shown on the ESPNU game.
just saying Lee hasnt done anything to earn the starting job NEXT YEAR. im fine with him finishing out this year.

next year is a long way away...
we may be praising Lee by then

Just from what I've seen, JJ has a stronger arm. That kid has a cannon.

you forgot to tell me to fast forward to the 2nd half. because the first two quaters were embarrasing on his part.

And Chris Garrett might as well pick another school cuz he aint playin
you do realize he will prob redshirt and then have 4 more years for a chance to play right? look at matt flynn..won a frickin nc as a 5th year senior and is 2nd on a nfl depth chart. jeez.cg should pick another school because he won't play next year..give me a break.

he is a young qb. do you remember how bad stafford, jpw, colt mccoy, chris leak, sam keller, chad henne all were in their early years. he will only get better and COULD be one of the best in his junior and senior years

Ummm, does Les play favorites next year and Lee will have the job to lose?
Its Lee's job.
why open up the competition so that process of breaking in a FR QB just starts again, and make goons like yourself up in arms about it?

Shep & Garrett are both supposed to enroll in January, which will give them the Spring to help learn the offense & give them a shot at competing for playing time.
Lee will obviously have the upper hand with experience, and I expect him to keep the job. Lee's struggled with staring down receivers, but so does every young QB. His stats are comparable, if not better, to Stafford's as a Freshman.
I think Sheppard plays, Garrett redshirts, Hatch rides the bench. JJ is the real question-mark - where does he fit in if Sheppard is brought in to be our change of pace?

Okay I know that I will get my dick chopped off by you guys but I flew into a Lafayette, this past weekend for a wedding and the goalie for LSU hockey was there and he seems to always be hanging out with JJ and he told me that he said he is transferring to a Big East school after this year. FWIW
I haven't been to Lafayette since this summer?
