We pick up 870 at night around San Antonio during hunting season.

drove up to iowa last august, caught a saints preseason game on 870 going through memphis, into missouri.

You can hear 870 clear in Kansas City at night. I checked it out heading up to Omaha last season just to see if you could hear it.
I almost guarantee you can hear it in Pigeon Forge at night. Unless the mountains screw with the signal.

Does anyone know if their broadcast could be heard in the Pigeon Forge, TN area? I know that their signal is pretty strong, but I'm not familiar with where you can get reception.
I can listen to it at night in knoxville so probably

I could hear it clear at night in TheMiddleOfNowhere, Misouri (about 90 miles north of Branson) in April.

Not in Pidgeon Forge proper, but if you drive about 20 minutes with your radio off out of Pidgeon Forge and then turn it back on you will be fine. Also you will have to remain parked in a stationary vehicle or it will not work.
You're welcome.

Get it in Columbia SC at night as well.

On clear nights I can catch 870 AM in Huntsville, AL PERFECT. Any cloud cover..and it's overwhelmed by the Mexican super stations. I've brought it in better with a homemade quarter wave dipole antenna...worked..but was a bitch to string up.

I've caught it in Memphis at night before.

At night you can here it almost everywhere. I caught it real weak up in Cheyenne Wy a few times. In Oklahoma City it comes in pretty good at nights.

I caught it one night when I was driving back from Pigeon Forge to Whittier, N.C. Listened to the LSU KY FB game in 2000 on 870.

AT NIGHT, in the car in the driveway, probably yes......I've found that way far away from N.O., the reception is much better in the car than in most home stereo/radio setups.......
Years ago, I've caught 870AM in the D.C. area, and also in Oklahoma. It covers a good deal of the U.S....but the 4pm central start time might hurt your reception until the sun goes down....

Sarah Palin gets it in Alaska, so obviously they can hear it in Russia too.

At night, I've gotten clear signals in Vicksburg, MS and even in Amarillo, TX.
I think it's a bit easier the further north you are. As another poster mentioned, the Mexican stations are hugely powerful, so in the southwest, you often get drowned out by them.

I don't know how many people know this but back in Ronnie Raygun's presidency there was a big time effort to do away with the clear channel super stations like WWL.
Republicans said they interfered with smaller stations broadcasting on that frequency during the day being profitable due to them having to shut down at night.
It was a campaign led largely by LSU fans that got it stopped.
