Problem is next years class is not very inspiring. Living off the transfer portal so far has not paid dividends. Yes we won the west last year, but 4 losses to do it. Now this year with less than ideal secondary. UGA, Bama, and Ohio State do not take alot transfers typically, unless it’s a can’t miss type guy.

I honestly don’t what stretch you could possibly referring to?

Sarcasm?
Sorry if it’s supposed to be clear. Just don’t know around here lol

He doesn't strike me as being lazy or negligent. However, I think there is some type of issue. He seems off, and the lack of preparation seems totally out of character. I have no idea if he's going through something; however, if he is going through something, he needs to step down and go take care of his problems and not do any more damage to the program

It’s his divorce, obviously.

Yeah, he and Denbrock really disappoint me with this offense. It lacks creativity, which we all got used to having with Joe Brady in 2019, and I’m not feeling optimistic Kelly will do anything about it. We need a Joe Brady running the offense, but I’m afraid we gonna be stuck with Denbrock.

Think he's referring to Les beginning in '05. His first OOC loss as our HC was PSU in the slop bowl in Orlando. He didn't lose a regular season OOC game until Wisconsin in '16.

Yea they thought it was an easy win lmao stfu! Maybe Florida st is just really really good!

It started in 2000. 17 years without an OOC loss in the regular season.

You want a guaranteed W. Schedule UT Martin like Georgia did, Middle Tennessee State like Bama did, Navy and Tennessee State two weeks in a row like Notre Dame did, Western Carolina like Michigan did, Arkansas State like OU did.
Then you will have your guaranteed win. You don't get guaranteed wins by scheduling Miss. State, UCLA and Fla State the last 4 years or USC to start next season.

I think you're right. It predates Les. Our last OOC reg season loss was UAB in 2000? Correct?

Yeah. I believe it’s UAB 2000 to Wisconsin 2016 without a regular season OOC loss. I know they didn’t lose a home OOC game until Troy under O.
Anyway, they played some good teams during that stretch.

I've got some theories but it's possible he's finding out winning at LSU is harder then he assumed. Honestly, if this team - staff included-really thought they were in the same stratosphere as UGA & thought they could just show up, well, an arse kicking might be just what they needed.

The amount of traction this thread is getting is embarrassing.

He’s 60 and has generational wealth. He also has zero emotional connection to LSU or the south and probably looks at us all as simpletons.
He’s never won a national championship. People don’t get to his level without desire and extraordinary work ethic. He needs at least one to get to that top tier. He’s not packing it in.

My concerns with CBK are:
a) Has to improve recruiting out of HS and especially in our natural footprint (LA and into TX). Navigating the portal and NIL is a new era in CFB. IMO, whatever NIL $$$ we have, needs to be concentrated there.
b) I think he's locked into a running QB-centric offense to a fault. He never had access to the WR talent at ND as he does here. But shifting into an offense scheme that features WRs is new to him. Not his comfort zone.
Let me illustrate. If Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow were locked in a QB competition in fall camp, CBK would rationalize that JD is the starter because he has better wheels to compensate for our mediocre OL.

Kelly is going to be what he always was. He’s good. Not great. He was never great.

But another part of him probably knows his performance here isn't going to land him the next job. This is it for him.
He does not need a next job. This is his last stop and he wants to win a couple Natty's. You actually answered your own comment with "This is it for him" We know that.
He needs to pick up recruiting the high school ranks, especially the DL. He may need to change a bit of his staff. But, he is only in his second year and people forget he took a depleted team and won the SEC West in his first year and beat BAMA!!! You all forgot this?
He is living close to campus for an advantage in recruiting, he says all the right things and is very smart, however, his comments about beating the shite out of FSU was unnecessary bulletin board material, and they reamed his team.
LSU came out firing but missed on a few 4th downs because of bad play calling prior to the 4th down plays. If Lacey does not drop the 3rd down catch in 3rd quarter, we might score and its a different game.
We had a good year last year losing to FSU, so lets see what happens in the next few weeks.
My idea:
Put Perkins back in an attacking position off the edge (both sides) and sometimes stunt when a team is 3-4 wide. Penn III and Whit weeks play with Speights in the middle
Masson Smith back will be great
Rotate Nuss in a few series and let er rip!
Play Heard at RT and slide Jones to RG (Or Lunsford, who has a lot of experience). Martinez at Center. We go from 320 to 330 average weight on the OL and maybe we won't get pushed back
Cut bait with Emory (He had enough chances and maybe bad for the locker room), play Bradford more and the younger guys. To come back to LSU 2 times shows he wants to be here and he started against FSU and came out swinging with a nice wheel route.
Stop the experiments at DB. Get Denver Harris in a meeting in Kelly's office and tell him we need you. You get the start and here is your chance to prove yourself and make it as a 1st Round NFL pick. Burns is soft and cannot tackle, find someone else to play with Sam and others at safety
