Regardless of what people think, that 2011 team did something that no Saban team did at LSU. Those were his players.

I wanted him out since 2008.
Say what you want, that 2004 tean was shitty.

Judging from that picture, he’s about 5 years and 30 pounds away from being a Firemarshall Bill doppelgänger.

Good man and good coach!

He averaged 10 wins a season, graduated his players, brought a ton of money to the university and made LSU relevant to everyone outside Louisiana.

He certainly had a many years tenure that, with due respect to the fact that there was some lessening of fine effort from a personnel standpoint, there are things these young men accomplished under the direction afforded.

Yep, anyone who says O is the worst coach in LSU history pegs themselves as <30 years old and frankly, quite effing spoiled. Go watch those Hallman years highlights and come back youngin’.

It was time and everyone knew it.
His gig was up and he had LSU trending downwards.

All of this is irrefutable. It's the comparisons that bring up the disagreements.

forever be the guy that had a ton of talent and couldnt win with i

he has the #1 win% in lsu history
he has the 7th best win % in sec history

during his tenure no program beat more ranked teams

he has as many top 5 finishes as saban, mac and dietzel combined

if you say he couldnt win then no lsu coach ever has won.

i swear some of you have convinced yourself that his tenure wasnt elite.

he was one of 4 coaches to make multiple title games appearances when he was fired

2007 NC will be he won it with Sabans players.

les is the only lsu coach since 86 to win a sec title with a team of 100% his players.

he has the 1st undefeated sec season in over a half century.

ive never seen a fan base more willing to shite on its most accomplished tenure ever just because they dont like the coach.

It was his THIRD damn season and third damn recruiting class. Saying that he won with someone else's players is purely asinine.

IF Orgeron is successful after next year, would you say it was with Miles players? Of course not because that would be ridiculous.

miles was justly fired and a year too late in my opinion but this need to shite on his tenure is amazing to me.
you wont find a single fanbase that shits on its most accomplished tenure even if they hate the coach.

I never even liked Miles as the coach and wanted him to leave for Michigan in '07. I was ready for him to go after '13, but it wasn't quite the right time yet and he deserved a shot to turn it around. He was probably let go 2 years too late.

I agree though, I just don't get why people want to shite on him and act like he didn't have LSU as a top 5 program for a long time. He obviously left some wins on the table and I never really agrees with his coaching style, but the man's record speaks for itself.

Iowa State beating Oklahoma State was the singular event that prevented Les from being a legendary coach.

That really is O's legacy right now until he proves otherwise.

Imagine how fans would have reacted to Les in 2016...

If he had fired his OC and promoted Ensminger in his place.
