Haven’t heard anything good reported on slot corner and LB the entire fall. Keep hearing different players being tried there but a lot of big plays are coming off the slot corner position.

That said, we might also end up being a top 5 team in the playoffs.

That is a high expectation for a team that last played a game with 39 scholarship players

I am expecting 7-8 wins this year.

A team needs to believe it can win every game they play

Are you on the team????

There is a huge difference between the mentality of a player and fans watching from the stands or at home.

But if you really expect this team to win at least 10 games and make the playoffs, you are probably not smart enough to know the difference

That's actually why anyone should be worried. It takes an Oline several games to gel. Them running right through our first string defense is a concern because that was an issue last season.

We’re just playing with ourselves at this point. We’ll see what’s really up in 2 weeks.

You think it better to have low expectations. We might win 8 games cause I’m scared to say we could be a playoff team. You are not smart

Bet your azz with film SEC DCs will be picking on that like a cut in a fight.

My no. 1 takeaway is Brian Kelly is all business.
Exactly what we needed.

This seems most reasonable to me.

The people that think we are somehow a 10 win team just because O left are the same people that will turn on BK the 2nd time the team doesn’t look good.
Coach O was bad at roster management and had bad luck. But his coaching wasn’t the difference between a 6 and 10 win team.

Listen frickstick.

It’s better to have realistic expectations not set your self up for disappointment.

No one is HOPING we only win 8. But those of with functioning brains know what kind of shape Ed left the program in and that it’s going to take a bit of time for Kelly to get the program back into championship shape.

It’s the same assholes like you that EXPECT this team to be a playoff team and will be calling for Kelly’s job even if the team wins 9 games.

Hell you’ll probably want him fired if we go down 3-0 in the 1st quarter against FSU.

So frick you and your stupidly unreal expectations.

While I agree with this to a degree, you can't go by the standards of the past. We also have never seen rules in place that would allow a team to almost totally rebuild their roster in a very short period of time.

This is definitely a whole new ballgame.

Think of any LSU team in the past, and then think of how much better that team would be if FIFTEEN of the weakest starters/backups were moved back to 2nd/3rd string and better players were inserted in front of them.

Because that is what happened this year.

We’ll see how the season plays out, but we’re in uncharted territory for sure.

Off the top of my head I think at best 7 of the top 20 players on the 2022 team were available to play for LSU in the last game of 2021. That is crazy.

If LSU's offense can out-pace, outshine, and can block this LSU defense, it can also do so against any SEC team on their schedule.

It’s not a question of if this offensive line is capable of blocking any (1) team. It’s more about can they dominate consistently and when they have a bad game, can they find a way to fix the issues and come back out on the next drive or next quarter and take their souls.

Our OL last year could block anyone but not everyone, every week, without having a down half or down game. That’s where you want them to be. Even then, they will stumble and they will make mistakes but they can respond quickly and be effective.

We played really good OL football against several teams last year, including and especially our nemesis red team. But then there was also Florida and A&M was ok. Even some of the loses were decent blocking from the OL. We have the talent and the depth, it’s simply working out the little details now. I think that will just take a few games to iron out but it won’t be horrible for long periods of time. It’ll be drive stoppers and maybe a big sack from behind that causes a TO or pressure up the middle that causes a quick throw.

It’s good they are doing well but when a game starts we will see what emotions do to the d-line performance. O-line is making them better, that is what I heard

When did BK say this LSU team was his most talented team ever?
I was wondering the same thing? I know he's said that he believes at LSU he can get a better level of athlete overall than at ND but I've not seen anything mention that CBK has said this particular LSU team is the most talented team he’s had.
