Have to say I have a big problem with Baton Rouge Police Chief Dwayne White making that kind of statement. It should be his goal to determine facts and make any further decisions based upon them. Period.

Was I the only one that saw the guy on here say Lowery was pushing his ex g/f who was a friend of JJ's. Then they waited for the players to come out of Shady's and confronted them?

this shite will never get resolved.

Of course it will be resolved. It may not be the correct resolution but there is no way in hell the police throw their hands up and say "we're too baffled by this mystery to proceed further."

One way or the other there will be resolution.

Moral of this whole story: don't honk your horn and yell at the LSU football team, especially when there's 50 of them and 2 of your group and you are a lot smaller and weaker than them.

Moral of the whole story: if you honk your horn politely at 50 LSU football players, and they try to physically extract you from your vehicle, if you fear for your life, pull out your gun and shoot whoever is trying to hurt you. You will be totally justified in the eyes of the law for protecting your safety.

Gotta prove the fracture was a result of the fight first,

It doesn't take this long to investigate a bar room fight and if the police/DA felt they had a slam dunk case cause injuries had be sustained, people would have been charged Saturday or Sunday whether they had submitted to be questioned or not.

Charges may be filed, but if this remains he said and he said, injuries or not, this never sees a court as a felony. imo

Clearly, football players are not to be honked at.

What was I thinking?

You still have some growing up to do if you don't see the stupidity behind the actions of the 2 "poor innocent victims".

My first question is about someone being unconscious. How do we know this? Is it just the victim saying he was unconscious? I don't think at this point we can take any participants word for anything, yet him being unconscious is being reported as fact. I am a little suspicious on that claim.
As to the fractured vertebrae...that is a matter of fact and I have confidence that if it is necessary the details of that injury can be determined. Of course a fracture can be severe or minor. A hairline fracture is not a very serious injury, and the fact that the person was sent home from the hospital lends me to believe that the fractures were not that serious...but at least that detail can be determined.

Are we assuming in this context that a fractured vertebrae is the same as a broken one.

Then some of the students / players will also be justified in pulling out their guns. Then someone who is inside might get hit by a stray bullet. Sat on a jury for a case like that and it did not end well for either party. A 3-year old died because of it.

I think you're suggesting that the Chief has a predetermined conclusion. To me, it sounds as if he is pretty sure a crime has been committed, and expects to make an arrest when all the evidence is in. I really don't think that contradicts your post, other than that I believe that the Chief is trying his absolute best to be fair. That implication was my only objection.
