One question I have about JJ and formations, is why are they lining up 5 wide in the shotgun if he can't read that. Why not line up 3 WR and a TE and RB and allow him to check them into protection.

naw
if our offense is struggling but we're hanging in against UF, we better put in lee to see if we can do something

I could definitely see Lee getting action in full bore catchup mode, i.e. the Troy game from last year.

I agree and that is exactly why Lee should have played a whole series against ULL. I am baffled about why he didn't get any real playing time.

The lines, O-line especially, have to be the main concern. Just like Saban and Fisher before them, Miles and Crowton will run the ball up the middle into a brick wall no matter what (see Auburn 2006 quarters 1-3). Last year, we had a good enough line and FB to pull it off, even with a shaky passing game. This year we aren't even close to that level.
I see improvement in the secondary and even the LBs, but the line has to get better. The tackling is better, but still isn't on par with 2003-2007. The aggressiveness is starting to pick up. They even threw a few different blitz combinations out there against ULL. We are definitely going to be better than last year.
When taking his age and experience into account, I was pleased with JJ over the first two games. I am a little more worried after the ULL game. The deep ball is a concern. He is either letting the ball go too late or overthrowing when it is delivered on time. He looked more frustrated on Saturday, and seemed to be pressing more. His main strength to this point, other than his ability to run and add an option element to our offense, has been his calm, cool demeanor. Most 19 year old QBs can't pull that off playing D-1 ball. I don't know if it was that the accuracy was more off than the other games, the misfires on the deep balls, or the int, but he wasn't looking too happy. If he is the QB, then we don't need him doubting himself. That seemed to kill Lee last year after the Georgia game.

We are undefeated and that's all matters

I think thats the part that should cause concern for an SEC team. Our #1 QB is not playimg well enough to give the #2 reps against lesser opponents. It should be a sure sign that #1 isnt going to get you were you want to be. We've come through the weakest part of our schedule, and our offense is statistically getting worse?

Not really. I would like to see play that says we would be able to compete in the SEC.

After 3 games, we are where we're suppose to be!!!
#1- New quarterback
#2- New defensive system
#3- 3 wins - 0 lose
#4- We beat a team, that defeated the #3 team
in the nation!
#5- We are LSU!

I don't think anything can be taken away from the ULL game. All I saw was a coaching staff who knew they were playing a team they could easily beat, experimenting with the offense. JJ's long balls leading up to that game were better that what we saw, and if they really are that bad, I think the coaches are morons for advertising that fact to the entire world. Hopefully, it's just bait for the big fish.
I think the offense we saw against Vandy is the real LSU offense, with a bit more ball control thrown in. And I have to admit, I do like the WR end around option play. Very original.

About the middle of the second quarter I was cussing Perrilloux up one side and down the other.
Damn you man. Damn you damn you.
