quote:Well consider they will be playing Tennessee next week; not quite the same as facing Auburn (at least not in media perception), but probably enough (assuming a decent win) to keep them ahead of us.
but was looking at it from the perspective of Florida having to prove themselves!

if we blow them out, we ought to jump a spot or two.

quote:I could see us potentially leaping idle OU or Missouri hosting Buffalo. But I still don't see much chance of the voters jumping us ahead of teams we'll be playing in a few weeks anyway. Just doesn't seem to fit with the way pollsters seem to vote.
since MO and OK and GA have failed to play strong opponents just thought a win by 14 or more since AU has been hyped to win the west.

Mizzou yes, but no way we jump OU.
And how do we jump 2nd ranked OU and NOT jump UF or UGA? There is NO way OU is dropping 3 or 4 spots.
In fact, there is no way OU is going anywhere from the #2 spot, even with the bye week, unless UGA goes off on Arizona State.

don't worry, georgia will drop one rank every week until we are ahead of them.. if that answers any questions

LSU will not score twice on Auburn's D.
There are no rules on an LSU-Auburn game. Buildings have burned down, the earth has shaken, improbable interceptions to end the game, "unconventional" refereeing, game winning pass on the last play of the game, All-American kickers missing five field goals, a QB throwing multiple interceptions that are returned for touchdowns, while his coaching staff is inexplicably still throwing in the second half with a big league, etc.
I will say this, it won't be 3-2. If LSU wins 7-3, I'm fine.

No matter how much we win by, we need teams 3=5 to lose to move up.
Well UGA keeps winning and moving down.

3 to 2 against Miss State, Auburn should be hiding under a rock the rest of the season. I'm still suprised they are holding their ranking this week.

Don't be suprised if LSU kicks the shite out of Auburn next week. They cannot score, their offense is horrible. We will score at least 4 td's ... 37 to Zero...LSU

I disagree. I think LSU will pound the ball and wear down Auburn's defense. We will score at least three times in this game.

Matt Hayes and numerous other sportswriters are using this game to gauge the defending national champs!
They don't determine the champions. The media poll isn't even in the BCS formula. Unless you are one of those who would claim the media trophy, it is a non-factor.
The coaches might jump us ahead of Mizzou in a blowout win, but that's about it. Beating Florida on the road would be more impressive.

I wouldn't go that far but do feel like we could finally win at Auburn.
