I am going to show up in Atlanta on Game Day and get tickets for free. I've done this before for neutral site games...works like a charm. People just start dumping tickets about an hour or so before game time.

How many Tiger fans do you think will make the trip?
I'm hoping for at least 25,000 but that might be a bit of a stretch.

im gonna have to call bullshite on that. uppers cost $60 a pop.
Sorry man, why would a student lie about how much tickets cost? Non-student tickets for the game are $60-100ish face (I believe), but I got two for $60 plus processing. Nice try though!

If I have access to purchase ahead of time for face or a reasonable value, I just do...I like to tailgate and not have to lap the dome a few times before the game.

The economy excuse is more geared towards those who request tickets then all of a sudden realize they get the tickets and at an absurd cost per ticket
and i agree with this .. $85 for lowers for a regular season college football game is a bit on the rich side .. and if i remember correctly, the ticket prices weren't stated on the website in the spring when people were putting in ticket requests ... hell, the upper deck prices are pretty strong too ..

So they go right to the Ticket Exchange and sell them giving lame excuses like "the economy is a killer, etc." Well, if it is a killer, then why in the hell did you request tickets in the first place? It's not like the economy was fine earlier in the year.
exactly .. the economy has been in the crapper in baton rouge now since at least february of 2008 ... this isn't anything new .. like i said in my OP, a lot of people came home after a night of drinking at happy's in april and all had the typical "dude, we are soooooo going to the ATL for the UNC game, brah" drunk convo .. so they hop on the old computer and order 10 of them .. then someone's CC gets hit for $865 in july and they crap .. pick up the phone, call the other 9 guys from said night and the cavalcade of excuses begin ...

I will be home from military leave in Afghanistan for the week of the Alabama game. It would mean the world to me to bring my pastor father undergoing chemotherapy and my newborn child to their first LSU game. Face or below offer please.

you forgot the pastor having poor vision and you really need tix between the 35 yardlines too ..

you just have to wonder how much longer college football is actually going to command these prices for tickets to football games .. with virtually EVERY game on television in one way, shape, or form, as well as people showing up on gameday and easily getting tickets for 1/4 to a half of actual face value .. i can see the market eventually hurting in the ticket sales $$$ department ... i certainly hope TV revenues can make up the eventual shortfall ... all the schools can really do is strictly prohibit gameday ticket resales onsite on gameday to curb a little of it ..

Bunch of negatigers in here who think $300 is too much to support the best college football team in America!
Posted on 7/19/10 at 10:20 am to GeorgeTheGreek
i think $300 is a bargain to watch russell shepard get in on three plays .. that's only $100 a play .. duh ..

didnt realize they had a student section in the upper level. thought you were saying they were selling regular tickets in the upper level for $60. either way, the students who get lower level $30 tickets get a hell of a bargain.

im surprised LSU hasn't moved some of the student section to the upper decks yet.

in all honesty .. the students are probably 75% of the noise in tiger stadium right now .. the rest of the lower bowl has become so antiseptic and corporate ..

agree, but LSU wants $$$$$ and noise doesn't generate $$$$$ in their eyes.

But the students are the ones who give Death Valley its reputation, and the school gets a lot of attention for its game day environment. Also, it would be a real shame to move students to the upper decks. We're the ones paying so much to attend LSU right now, shouldn't we be getting at least decent seats to cheer on our peers? Instead of people who graduated 20 or 30 years ago and had their 4 years in Tiger Stadium?

I'm all for expanding the student section to the south endzone as well and forcing all visitors into the upper decks, like they do us in their stadium.

Enjoy it now because once you graduate, unless you have relatives with season tickets, you'll be shite out of luck in getting your own season tickets. I've been donating yearly since I've graduated in '07 and I'm still without my own season tickets.
For the record, I'm against moving the student section. I just stated that I'm surprised LSU hasn't moved some of the section yet to bring in more money.
