he’d never recruit a class that shitty it’s another thing that makes him great
If he was a great Xs and Os coach, he wouldn’t have failed so miserably in the NFL.
Saban is the best at college football coaching because he is the best at recruiting. Now we can argue whether or not he is the best at recruiting because of cheating, but to claim he is the best at coaching with his NFL record is absurd.

Miserbly in the NFL, he was 2 games under .500, you people are fricking stupid. Hue Jackson is failing miserably in the NFL, not Saban

15 and 17 and you think that’s good? Lol

You have it backwards. Recruits flock to him because he is a great coach. If you were a five star prospect, why wouldn’t you go to Alabama?
And do people forget that in just his second year, his Alabama team went undefeated in the regular season? Those were mostly Shula’s recruits.

He was only there two years. They were 4-12 the year before he took over. They went 9-7 in his first year and almost made the playoffs and 6-10 in his 2nd year when the Donte Culpepper experiment failed. Miserably failing would be the coach who followed him, none other than Cam Cameron, who went 1-15. But no, he didn't light the world on fire.
College and NFL are totally different though. See Steve Spurrier. Pete Carrol didn't do much in the NFL for a while and Bill Belichick only had one winning season in his first five seasons in the league with the Browns.

Is it miserable? I can name several great coaches that had worse records after two years...

I don’t hate him. I don’t even think about him unless someone else brings him up.
I do highly doubt he is as successful as he is without some form of cheating seeing as it’s never been done before except maybe by Bear Bryant who was well documented as stacking the deck in his favor in very shady ways.

This disdain toward's Saban's ability as a coach is partly to blame with why some people can't see how inadequate Orgeron is for his job, with all this "give him a chance" garbage. People obviously don't think coaching matters
Orgeron would need 2001 Miami to have a shot at winning and even then he'd probably mess it up.

The NFL couldn’t care less where a player plays college. If you are talented with the measurables they want in your position, they will draft you. That’s why players are drafted from smaller schools all the time.
I’d go where I could get the most play time.

Yeah he totally sucked at Toledo, MSU, and LSU before cheating at Alabama.

Yes but he would never be able to access mosh that at every school he coaches at. Put him at Moo State. He might win one in that same amount of time at best.
College football is won by the jimmies and joes and not the Xs and Os 95% of the time. (Statistically the higher recruiting ranked team wins 95% of the time)

Not saying his program is pure as the virgin snow, but until someone comes up with something tangible to back this notion of rampant cheating, a statement like this is slanderous
Funny that a USC fan said this.
Pete Carroll had one of the best runs in recruiting ever. USC had Snoop Dogg, Will Ferrell plus multiple Hollywood stars on the sidelines at practice. Extremely successful team, ESPN anointing them the greatest of all time. With all this they still had to throw tons of cash/houses at Reggie Bush and others.
Bama has had 3-times the recruiting success in Tuscaloosa in one hell of a lot harder area to recruit.
Nothing to see here.

I hate Alabama as much as the next guy, but Nick Saban brought LSU back to prominence. Les continued it for a while and now Saban has built a juggernaut at Alabama and NOBODY will win until he retires. Deal with it. Love LSU and support them, but be realistic at the same time.

Winning a title at Mississippi State would cement him as the greatest college coach ever

No shite, like this is the logic of some LSU fans... it makes no sense their disdain for Saban because they feel he left LSU for Alabama
