And the only reason Alleva was embolded to make such a foolish hire is all you “one of us/he’s learned from his mistakes” clowns. You guys deserve the blame for this.

Damn! I had no idea that The Rant had such influential people posting here. The fact that Alleva took the suggestions of Ranters after Jimbo and Herman fell through and hired Orgeron because some many Ranters that he poled liked him because he "is one of use" is really amazingly . . STUPID TO EVEN THINK MUCH LESS PUT IN WRITING.
Alleva panicked because he is a freaking incompetent arse who thought he could handle this hire on his own instead of hiring a search firm to do the research for him. So don't blame even the dumb coonasses who liked Orgeron while he was coaching the DL. Its not their freaking fault. Blame it on Alleva. But get off Orgeron's arse until you see what he does with a QB he recruited and a OC he hired that he trusts. Even with possibly the most difficult schedule in modern history, if he doesn't produce at an 8-4 or 9-3 level then start bitching again. But no reason to pull out all the old arguments again now.

I disagree.

He had a 5th year senior in Etling last year, who played much better than he did at Purdue. He wasn't Joe Montana but he was smart with the football.

What I'm getting at is that now it's up to a true sophomore in Brennan, I think everyone can see through the coach talk. Brennan will be the starter and I want to see him light it up, I do. O should've let him play a little more than he did last season but it is what it is.

But in retrospect, the way O coached the team last year in certain games has shaken my confidence.

"We have no kicker, have to recruit one, we need more linemen, have to get some from JUCOs, etc" You don't say stuff like that about your players in public. I get wanting to rile them up and do better but you don't thrown them under the bus like that.

There was no OC search from the head coach.

O gets bent out of shape about a question about Jerry Sullivan and the season hasn't even started. I thought that was odd, for him to react so defensively.

We've seen what he does at the helm and it's not what LSU needs. I do agree with you, Alleva panicked or bought into the sale O gave him. But after a year, I'm done with him.

I gave him chance after chance after chance.... even after the Moo State and Troy games. Then he did the above statement. I bought into his stuff but he's simply not a good head coach.

Not sure about the most difficult but it's sure more difficult than last year's when he was able to go 9-4.

I'm tired of the "but this year it'll be....." and "this year he has his quarterback" and "this year it'll be this....." I'm tired of it.

He had his chance, sold a bill of goods to the fans and the players and was unable to deliver. If by some miracle the team gets through that schedule virtually unscathed, I'll personally tell him I was wrong.

This is not to be misconstrued with me wanting the team to fail. I do not at all. But he's not what the team needs.

Is that why LSU is calling ticket holders that haven’t renewed and asking them why? Can you confirm a wait list for season tickets? With a link? They expanded the stadium and shrunk the product. Bad choice

People wanted Les gone because they thought with him out of the way championships would start flowing in because any idiot can win 10 games at LSU.

A lot of good coaches have been able to take a big step forward in year two, so this is the year we have to see something.

You’re right, Powerman. Ole Miss’s worst coach in the history of their program deserves every benefit of the doubt.

So, maybe the idea here is that Orgeron "will learn from his mistakes after a few years" and folks can invoke the old "he's not the same coach or person that he was at Ole, er, LSU when he was first hired..." argument.
Just give him five or six years and he will transform himself into a qualified head coach, because this is his dream job.

O didn't recruit any of the QB's on the roster. All three are Cam's recruits.

There’s no waiting list. I can’t give the tickets away. The response is always, why would I want to spend all of that money tailgating and at the game to watch Ed Orgeron lose to LA Tech?

I hope O is successful for many reasons, but one is so all you lil bitches will go away or maybe fade away. You punks remind me of all the snowflakes protesting everything that don't go your way.

It would be glorious.
