I would like to apologize if I came off brazen in my response. Everyone copes with those life changing circumstances differently and I’m glad you made it home safe as well. God bless.

Because it’s really not that serious. It’s not like the site is going to permanently crash because he posted something on the wrong board. Lord willing the sun will rise again tomorrow and you will still be able to read Tigerdroppings.

Well, I am not a Marine. However, I have family members and friends that are and there are no ex-marines. Even after your last breath on earth.

Just saying.

I was an Army clerk in Chu Lai, 67/68. There were some Marines in the immediate area who would verbally harass us. We were mostly draftees who just wanted to do our two years and go back to civilian life. There was an incident where a Marine unit and elements of the 101st Airborne fired on one another.

I respect the USMC, but I never understood their hostility towards the Army.

I had an uncle that fought on Iwo Jima, it's been a long time but to paraphrase, he would say something like," the Navy was good to us, good chow, warm dry rack to sleep in, the Air Corps would get us out of some tight spots with their close air support, the Army? sometimes I wondered if they were even on our side"
