re: Appy State FCS (1AA) Championship Ring...

I know that I am in the minority here but I think all of those rings are garish and tacky. I can't imagine ever putting something on that says "look at me, see what I was a part of...!!!" I know there is some pride involved but really...those things are HUGE and just look kind of stupid. It matters not to me who is wearing them or what they symbolize...but like I said I know I am in the minority...
On the other hand (no pun intended), you might impress some young coed with it...hmmmm

Actually what helps bring in all of your recruiting classes are grades .
its alot easier to recruit with a trophy especially when the guys youre trying to get are looking at IA schools

What was the difference between CoCo going to Appy and Aramis going to SC? Not being a smartass, just wondering what your thoughts are.

How can it?
There was no spread for the LSU game.
there was no official spread from vegas but if you were to make one before that game would you have said less than 30pts?

I'm not laughing at App, I'm laughing at Meeshegan.......

compared to last years....??? Michigan had guys like Shawn Crable(3rd rounder), Terrance Taylor(projected 1st-2nd), or tim jameson(projected 4th). and we certainly weren't "hoping to get hurt by half"
You have no idea.
84 Rahim Alem DE 6-3 252
90 Ricky Jean-Francois DT 6-3 281
97 Al Woods DT 6-4 314
47 Tremaine Johnson DE 6-2 273
49 Kirston Pittman DE 6-4 254
93 Tyson Jackson DE 6-5 292
91 Charles Alexander DT 6-3 294
99 Marlon Favorite DT 6-1 295
This is just our juniors and seniors. All have significant experience. All are absolute beasts. Add our 2 sophomores and multiple RSF and yes, this is the deepest LSU has ever been on the DL. I won't project what rounds in the draft, etc., but I will say that most will be playing on Sundays. This is our strength. Fresh legs at all times. A QBs nightmare.

Yeah, I thought it was comical too that they thought the lines would be an asset with some people regard ours to be one of, if not the best, in 1A ball.

Yes
I respect ya'll. I never denied the game will be relatively close.
Still don't see ya'll beating us. You guys got lucky with Michigan yes, you outplayed them, but the main reason why you did was because Michigan wasn't expecting a game...and even then they had multiple opportunities to win.
And I still find it comical all of the Appy state fans here attempting to set the ground work for a moral victory if ya'll keep it within 21 or so. And if you can't? Well that is just because you are just AA and you weren't "supposed" to.
Just seems kinda double-standardish. On one hand you claim that you are just as good as a number of 1A programs, and better than some (Which is true), but it seems the fanbase is still eager to hide behind the AA status as needed.

Something tells me they won't be putting the 2008 LSU game score on their rings at the end of the year.

You are right --- the field is Not level.
LSU is is MEGA School Football size
LSU has 22 more scholarships
LSU is playing at Home
LSU will have 90,000 + fans
LSU recruits 4 and 5 star players
LSU budget is 10 times APP State
LSU tailgating is the best
LSU food is second to none
LSU coach is top 5 in the country
LSU has 1 million fans all over the world
What advantage did I miss?
If LSU doesn't Blow APP out LSU underachieved !
Just say'in and thank to LSU AD for inviting us. I am really happy to come to BR and be at the BEST college Football environment !!!

app doesnt recruit size as much compared to other schools. even in our division.
that being said, aramis would have been huge for us but he was on the wishlist i think and seen as a longshot. if he had even half the athletic ability of his brother he would have fit in perfect with app.
most of our big players are the ones that slipped through the IA cracks. the ones that didnt recieve the 3-4 stars they should have due to size, injury, inexperience, or competition(my favorite oversight). and dont forget walk-ons. gotta love rudy's.

damn that ring is pathetic. i cant believe anyone would actually defend that.

A few of us APP fans agree the design is very tacky.
We defend the skill and ability of our team before a game and recognize the winner after the game.

called being realistic. i mean i could be an ignorant homer if you like but ive already placed a hundred down for a 21pt push on this game. the spread is at 24 or 23 i think so yea i like to believe i have some faith.

the giants used the same design.
if you remember anything from the 07 season it would have to be one of these three games: michigan, jmu, or richmond. the NC game was more of a circus/send off party for the seniors.

True, but my point is that if you are gonna go for moral victories/AA shields, that kinda precludes you from talking trash.
"Oh we are gonna whip you so bad, I bet you only win by 2 touchdowns!"

why the hell would you put money down two months before the game???? Thats not very bright, alot could happen between now and then....

last year's stats
Rahim Alem - 8 tackles
Al Woods -22 tackles(most in La Tech game)
Ricky Jean-Francois - 9 in limited games(I think hes a beast but no better than terrance taylor of Michigan)
Tremaine Johnson only 3 solo(11 total)
Charles Alexander - 6 tackles
Marlon Favorite - Projected 5th rounder
Kirston Pittman - Projected undrafted(27th best DE of this years class)
Tyson Jackson - projected 3rd rounder(no better than shawn Crable IMO)
While these guys might be good, only 4 of them can be on the field at any one time. Plus their stats aren't exactly eye poping since most of them have ridden the bench, besides their 1 or 2 tackles per game in the garbage minutes.(at least thats how it appears)

This is too funny, half of you guys want to embrace the underdog role and half of you want to be a true contender.
It must be great to be a sniper but you have to get in the trenches this time EVERYONE is looking at you.
We're used to people talking smack before showing up. Just check all the VT posts this time last year.
