That's like arguing with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

How about Texas v. Nebraska for Big 12 CG last year? No one seems to talk about that one.

I have my critical days, but frick a pass for a TD that wins a game???

If he missed the pass there would have been FIVE seconds on the clock. In the image there was 4 seconds left and he already turned over.. If its incomplete then the clock stops and LSU trys the FG. THE GAME WOULD NOT HAVE ENDED if he missed the pass.
Also, before the "time almost expired" myth, most were questioning why Tubby didn't ask to at least put a few seconds back on the clock. Could have fair caught and tried one Hail Mary.

Yeah, two chances to win is always inferior to one.

What I meant by this was that Flynn let so much time run off the clock before taking the snap that the clock could have run out on an incompletion. If the ball was snapped 5 seconds earlier there wouldnt have been that risk.

Don't waste your time.. It's like arguing with a fence post.

I agree. It was an exciting as hell outcome, but I think running to the middle and kicking the FG is the proper call.
wrong. you take two chances at a score, not one.

It was a solid call and one of the great plays in Tiger Stadium. I still get pissed at people calling that one clock mismanagement.

Yeah, as much as I've ridiculed Miles' snafus from the last 2 years, that one was a hell of a playcall, much like his 4th down wonders. If it doesn't work, come talk to me. Miles has plenty of flaws. There's no need to start fabricating some.

Tell this to the ole' Ball Coach, and he had 16 seconds left. The quandary lies with the Coach's confidence in the QB's ability to place the ball in a position where ONLY the receiver could possibly make a play. Flynn=Yes; Garcia=No.

REALLY? And what part of the play didn't get executed? The touchdown? Or the point after?
The problem was Flynn taking his sweet time snapping the ball, if he snaps it 2 or 3 seconds earlier, there are no problems. As for people saying the ball could have been tipped and the clock could've ran out, someone please show me a similar pass where the ball is batted in the air and doesn't hit the ground for 5 seconds.

So, you think a 40 yard field goal is a safe bet in college football? With the game on the line? You wouldn't want another shot at scoring?

I think the reason for Tubs' lack of effort was his total brain rape provided by the Mad Hatter. He was still reeling from the dismay.

lulz

Why let that much time expire before snapping the ball?
thats on Flynn

Dont forget the clock doesnt stop the instant the ball passes the reciever. If that ball is batted up or tipped the clock could have easily run out.
how often does a football get tipped in the air and stay there for 4 seconds?
quote:
Too much risk, QB slips, ball batted, interception etc.
Well, the ball being batted scenario has already been debunked. The qb could take a sack, but it was a quick throw. He could slip, but how often does that happen. Man to man coverage? Yeah. Could've been picked off? Sure.
Is a 40 yard field goal not risky?

Remember also that Tubby set it all up with that brilliant choice of a squib kick.
To be honest, considering how badly the Tigers were screwed the year before, I thought that was the perfect payback for those bitches. That game may actually bug them more now than that 1988 loss.

NO, NO, NO, please don't bring this up on the rant. 'cause then the terds would have to stop the clock at ol miss with 3seconds left for lsu.

This isnt really a big deal to me. I thought the play call was bad. Thats just my opinion. I didnt like the downside/reward risk.
The big problem was the execution. NO WAY that much time should have been run off the clock before snapping the ball.
It worked out but I sure wouldnt label Miles a genious for calling it.
