I hope to be there tomorrow, at least for part of the scrimmage.

Saw Watkins in some of the fall scrimmages. He looks to be the real deal.

Looking forward to Feb. 19 also!

i wish mikie would stay in cf.

Mikie was one hell of a CF, but he fits best in THIS outfield in Right. Landry has no arm, and the new kid is supposed to be as good as anybody in CF. Mahtook has by far the best arm, therefore he's in right. Good luck trying to find the gaps on these guys

I'm pretty sure all spring practices are free and open to the public.

Yes, they are all free and open to the public. I went yesterday and man was I cold. It starts at one today, as did it yesterday. They probably practiced until 2:30 and then started scrimmaging. The starters were on one team and the backups on the other. 4 innings

Posters thought I was a fool for saying Landry would bat second in the lineup.

I don't think that's a bad spot for him, I think if he gets rolling though, he may get dropped back to get him more RBI opportunities. His hands are so quick. I just hope he doesn't start looking for home runs like he did after he went on that tear at the beginning of last year. His homers will come.

don't mind landry hitting 2nd if he becomes a better contact hitter. he's there because he's the best bunter. and can make a single out of it.

watkins gets on, steals second and landry bunts. could have 1st and 3rd nobody out or 3rd 1 out. sounds like a dangerous scenerio. i like it.

We should no doubt score a lot of 1st inning runs this year

also will allow dean to see more fastballs early in the game. a wild pitch with good baserunners aboard is always on the pitcher's mind. we should put a lot of pressure on opposing starting pitchers this year.

I'm anxious to see how some of these guys step up, unfortunately I don't think we'll know too much about the team until March when we play Pepperdine and Kansas. I mean we won't know too much more than what we already know about guys like Dean, Ranaudo and Gibbs. Landry still has questions to answer and the big time freshmen from last year will have to avoid a sophomore slump.

I can't wait to see who is going to step up and be a key contributor like Matty Ott last year. There's always one guy that does. I hope it's a pitcher.

i am mostly worried about ott repeating his spectacular season. not because i don't think he can, but because it is critical that he does. we'll be just as dangerous at the plate and will cover some ground in the field. will miss dj's range at 2nd, but hanover is a good ballplayer. he'll surprise a lot of teams at the plate.

he's my darkhorse candidate for team leader in RBIs this season.
