If you guys are up for a fun challenge on gameday…
Friday when you get in try to have lunch at Chimes on campus. It’s good food but could just be hectic on a game day IMO
Saturday get up and just start walking the campus. People will be cooking breakfast/brunch food and I would just tailgate hop.

Honestly, if I had a perfect day, this is what I would really like to do. Eat breakfast or lunch at a spot depending on the kickoff time then just visiting a bunch of tailgates around the stadium. I’d love that.
Stroll campus starting about 10am.....PLENTY drink & food to go around.
Catch band and Tiger Walk about 2 hours before kickoff.
Walkon's after game South of Stadium

Is Mike Anderson’s still around? That was always my go to spot

Stay in Denham Springs and avoid Baton Rouge asuch as possible except to actually go to the game itself. Every minute you are in BR outside the stadium your risk of getting mugged to murdered increases expotentially.

This is clown advice.

The Ruth’s Chris steak house used to be the LSU basketball cafeteria under Dale Brown.

Coming down to Baton Rouge I have no idea what to expect so I wanted to post here to see if you guys could offer some food suggestions, tailgate spots (open invites to stop by a tailgate if anyone is kind enough) what to do on Saturday before kickoff or anything else. Basically, what do I need to know and how do I make the most of my experience?
Bring an extra Liver... You will need it to keep up with these Coonasses! JK
Seriously, LSU is an open container legal campus so it is a pretty good all day party atmosphere if you pace yourself. I have seen many a person come to Tiger Stadium only to be too smashed to go in by game time. I buy a cheap cooler and walk around all day if I am not planning on a specific stop. Dont be afraid to engage with the other fans and you will have a great time.
Keep checking in here as game week comes around and you will get a lot more specific info on gameday stuff.
Lastly, Pics of wife or GF will go a long way to get that premium tailgate invite!!

We are staying at an Embassy on constitution Avenue. Looks to be about a ten minute drive to the stadium. I planned to Uber over closer to campus the morning of the game.
Whatever time you were planning to come to campus, you’ll already be late. Get there early, especially if you’re paying an Uber for your time.

I usually leave extraordinarily early for everything so I’ll probably go down toward the stadium as soon as we wake up. Lol.

I lived near Shenandoah (BR subdivision) in the 80s. My neighbor left Friday at 3pm for every home game. The party starts early.

Once you’re on campus you will get plenty of advice on where to go & what to do. Most folks are nice, especially early in the day.
The closer to Game Time & the drunker the Tailgaters become It'll get slightly less welcoming but mostly just “Tiger Bait” chants & the occasional drunk letting you know just how bad of an arse whipping our Tigers are fixin to lay on Tenner!!

Yeah that’s a decent enough area… quite a few hotels right there. And you’re right, about 10 minutes or so to campus. Just fyi, if you plan to Uber post game, you’ll probably want to plan to stay on campus 2-3 hours at a tailgate or nearby bar. Traffic post game sucks and it’ll be hard to get Uber

Get to the campus early. Plenty of tailgate parties everywhere and you will eat food you will love, but you won't have any idea what you are eating
