Honestly I hope this dude falls flat on his face and has a terrible NBA career. He won't care because he got paid, but would still enjoy seeing him be terrible.

Ben Simmons was an above-average college basketball player

Get the frick out of here. Above average? LSU fans are seen as a joke because of stuff like this. He put up literally insane numbers and was the #1 overall pick...and LSU fans want to say he's above average.

And it's true, every great player has an ego. There's no great that doesn't have an edge about him. I live in Philadelphia and people absolutely worship Ben. They seriously think LSU fans are ignorant.

It affects the way I look at Jones and the AD. This type of kid is poison to a team and a program and it shouldn't have been tolerated.

The kid is selfish beyond belief. All of you who focus on poor little Ben seem to forget how difficult it must have been to try to incorporate an ego like his into a team concept with the other LSU players and how difficult it is to coach a kid like him when he tells his coaches he isn't going to go to class in his second semester at all. The kid could have played in europe or sat out until he was 19 years old (which is the NBA age requirement) and then gone Pro. Instead he knowingly came to LSU for self-promotion and didn't give a damn about LSU or his teammates. The entire documentary focuses on Ben Simmons and his viewpoint only. It isn't LSU's or the NCAA's problem because the rule which forces this situation is from the NBA. Apparently, Ben Simmons needs to focus on changing that rule instead of making his ill informed statements regarding the NCAA. Selfish beyond belief. Glad he is gone.

I had a lot more sympathy for him after watching it actually.

The kid just wanted to get to the league and went to a school w/ a family member. That was it.

He was bombarded the entire time at LSU by fans and the school -- and he really shouldn't have had to be there.

And how many of these were charged with raping a hotel concierge?

That gives a whole new meaning to "room service"".

The NBA did not pass that rule because they were bored. They had pressure from the NCAA to be more like the other sports.

certainly the NBA has conversations with the NCAA, but the NBA will do whatever they want to do and there's nothing the NCAA can do to stop it. So I doubt any "pressure" from the NCAA had any effect on the NBA whatsoever.

Being drafted #1 is not a reflection of his college career. They drafted him #1 for his potential and insane athletic ability
