Peterson
Webster was good but when LSU lost Lavalais and Hill in 04, their pass rush and Webster's production suffered dramatically.
Peterson's doing what he does with perhaps one of the weakest pass rushing front 7s I've ever witnessed.

peterson
peterson is as good as webster without a good DL and without another great corner on the other side

Peterson and it's not that close. Webster is being exposed every week in the pros now that they don't get the same pass rush. Peterson is much faster, and a better tackler. Webster never shutdown an elite guy like Julio, and got schooled by Reggie Brown as a Senior in the UGA game.

prior to the LSU game, Julio only had 20receptions in 8 games(2.5rec/game). it was great that PP had shut down Julio when he was defending him, but i wouldnt use that as evidence that PP is better than CW.
that move by PP to INT the ball reminds me of Deion.

Yes, but it was one-on-one, and he wasn't getting separation. That was different than some other games, where he was getting less attention. Or they didn't throw the ball as much.
Say what you want, but Jones is one of the more talented WRs out there.

we are watching the best ever at LSU. PP may go down as one people mention when they mention the best corners ever even without returning punts we're talking about shutting down receivers.

but PP is the man. I think PP is the best LSU DB I have seen.
He is probably the best because you did not likely see Casanova...
PP is going to be better than Corey, and he may be there already. He has more physical skills and when he perfects his technique, baring injury, he may surpass Casanova also

Corey Webster was a WR turned DB,
quote:He had some pretty impressive stats on the offensive side too. Over 700 yards his senior year, you should check 'em out.
Peterson has been a CB since Day 1 in HS,

PP and after next year that will bee very obvious. Watching him in person, he may be the best shut down corner I've seen play college ball.

PP is and will be the best corner back at LSU. Corey Webster was a beast! The 2003 defense was full of highly skilled players. Its hard to pick just one player for the 2003 defense.
