I evaluate by the fact that Star ratings don't translate to NFL talent.
Except, it absolutely DOES translate to that.

Of the 253 players that were drafted, 99 of them were former five or four-star prospects according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. That means 39.1 percent of the prospects drafted over the weekend were players the recruiting industry deemed future impact players.

Five-Star Of the 31 former five-star prospects eligible to be picked this year, 23 were selected during the draft.

Four-Star The five-star players get all the attention, but it was actually the four-star prospects that had the biggest imprint on the first round. Twelve former four-star players were selected among the first 32 picks, including four of the Top 10 picks.

LSU was not going to be successful this year.
Define successful.
I agree that LSU was going to be down this year, if for no other reason our road schedule was beastly. But if ANYONE wants to suggest they saw a 6-6 season or a below .500 season on the horizon regardless of whether or not Miles was still here, I'd LOVE to see a link to that post.

Tired of the excuses. LSU has always had freshmen and sophomores playing.
Ed Orgeron is a shitty coach.

Good point.
I figured 8-4 or 7-5. But my expectation grew after BYU and watching UF no-show the Mich game.

People need to realize it's not going to be a quick fix...better recruitment and junior college players is the right route...
Please do not let Brosette touch the ball again....he has been a major disapointment...he has not progressed any since his u high days....he fumbles too much and is way too slow for SEC football

new offensive scheme
new (2nd year) defensive scheme
15 players hurt/suspended (not playing)
inspired opponents
very little team leadership from players
no team identity
but, we dress nicely.
Give it time.

very hard to play anywhere, especially the SEC, as a true freshman.
that's a myth and an excuse. Some freshman can, and do, play very well right out of the gate.
Now yes, I don't want my entire starting lineup made up of freshman, but that's not even close to the case with us. The large majority of our starters aren't freshmen.
It's an excuse.
