First of all, Bama and LSU don't have pitiful offenses, they only have pitiful offenses when playing against each other's defenses. Bama and LSU went into last night's games averaging 39+ pts/game.
We played a team (WVU) that has a top 15 offense and a top 25 defense on the road and won by 27.
We have played 3 teams with scoring offenses in the top 25. Oregon scored 21 points less than their season average, WVU scored 17 points less, and Alabama scored 29 points less than there average.
If you think LSU's offense is pitiful, KSU's offense was ranked behind LSU's before yesterday's game. They racked up 45 points and 507 yards against OSU. OSU has only held one opponent to less that 24 points. LSU has only allowed 2 opponents to score more than 11.
Boise State allowed 21 points and over 300 yards of offense to a team ranked 128th out of 120 teams. Now that is bad.
I do think Stanford and OU have enough balance on offense and good enough defenses to beat LSU, but they might not make it there.
A team that you failed to mention that has enough offense and defense to beat LSU is still on the schedule and that is Arkansas.

The only game I am worried about. LSU is the better team, but R-Kansas could cause problems. Wilson is a very legit QB

But, let me ask, what makes everyone so confident that a team with an adequate defense and awesome passing offense(Boise, Stanford, OU, Oklahoma St) couldn't beat LSU(team with awesome defense but only adequate offense?)
Because all season long we drop 30+ points for the most part on adequate defenses, and the odds of those offenses scoring 30+ points against this defense is pretty low.

You sir have no clue.

I hope Bama plays Boise in the Suhar bowl - that will put silly thoughts like this to bed.

The QB play was uninspiring to say the least

Stout defense wins titles, explosive offenses win Top 10 Replays. That's plain and simple. The OP posts as if every LSU or Bama game is just won by Defense.
LSU
ppg: 35.9
pa: 10.9
Bama
ppg:35.7
pa: 7.1
These are two powerful offenses and two of the best defenses in the country. To have both sides of the ball producing like this is not normal. With high powered offenses like WV and Oregon halted from scoring and a mediocre defense, there's no competition.

So you are saying that a qb like Andrew Luck in those situations last night where WR's were wide open could have and would have made those throws. This could be a legitimate thought IF Luck had played a game against Bama and was in an identical situation.
With logic like yours I can sit back and take a shite on my keyboard and it would probably make more sense, only because the shite I produced actually was shite and it knew it, as did I.
To inspire your thought process I will postulate this:
I believe that if JL12 was in during the play where JJ9 passed to RS10 he would have thrown him open and it would have been a touchdown. JL has a quicker and more accurate release than JJ, and he would have had the time to understand what was going on on the field and make the play. And I bet Luck could have but I'm not saying that our own QB's can't compete. But then again, Luck is human and probably would have just tried to get the ball to his receiver, we've all seen him against a decent pass rush and he's not that great. Whereas Bama's pass rush is outstanding.
Jarrett Lee has been virtually flawless this season except for last night. We have the personell and talent to put up big #'s on offense. Last night showed us that we are human, and Bama has a VERY stout pass rush. Andrew Luck has not played against a pass rush that dominant. So therefore you can cut and paste him into situations all you want but it won't mean shite. Just like I can put The Hulk in for Spencer Ware and say that we would have steam rolled Bama's d-line and lb's.

Futhermore, Luck would NOT have faired any better.

Wilson is really good and tough as nails. He could possibly get some yards/TDs on us.
But Arkansas' offensive line is AWFUL. We should get a major pass rush on them even when not bringing extra people.
And their D is not very good. They gave up 38 to aTm, 28 to Troy and Vandy and 24 to Ole Miss.
So I think he's the best QB in the SEC and they have really good receivers, but they would have to play lights out in other areas that they have not played well in to beat us at home. Their running game hasn't been good either. I think it's ranked in the 80s.
However, if they have just one loss when they play us (which it looks like they could), they'll be playing for a lot as well so we have to bring it.

How do you know our defenses were so great if the you've concluded that the offenses suck so bad? If our offenses are so horrendous then our defenses didn't have to be so awesome. Maybe they too were just a adequate.

That said, the offenses were nothing short of pitiful
You saw a young QB with bama who will be better next year with the experience from this year. An LSU offense that was reeling from the reappearance of 2008 Lee. This time Les neutralized him on the bench put in JJ to hand the ball off and leave it to the defense and field goals to win.

Because we score a shite load of points against adequate defenses and our defense shuts down good offenses. It's really not that hard of a concept to understand.
Basically what Herbstreet said last night after the game. Said while Okie St's Offense is National Champion Caliber their defense is far from it. While Okie State might score some points on us LSU would score way more on their shitty D.
