Clark has allowed 5 possible returns. 30 of his 64 have been inside the 20.
Again, not saying Clark is better than Wing. Explaining to the guy I was responding to why Clark is considered.

Are you positive he doesnt qualify? Or are you just going off what someone said on page one. Not that i dont believe it, but i'd like to see a link.
no, i have no idea if that's true or not. but if it is, it would make more sense than him not being a finalist. he leads the SEC in net punting as well, so there's really no other explanation anyone else from the SEC would be a finalist over him.

He was a semi-finalist. I'm certain of that. How in the world could he not be a finalist?

Wing not winning, maybe, he is a freshman. Not nominated...

I imagine they didn't want one of the three finalists not being able to qualify for it.
And the semi finalists were named over two weeks ago. Did LSU even punt against Ole Miss?

LINK
Opponent punt return yards:
LA Tech - 340
Auburn - 41
Oregon - 71
LSU - 6
One of these is not like the others.

LSU fans needs to write the folks that decide the qualifications for the award

Miami Herald says it's 3.8 yards per game. I didn't just take a random post's word on it.
Oregon's punter averaged the same amount of punts per game as Florida St's. So someone has the wrong info somewhere.

Yeah, that sounds kinda bogus.

It's kind of a dumb award that only takes Gross Average in consideration. They historically have not really considered net average or % of punts inside the 20/10.

He is acting like a total bitch on twitter right now, just RT'ing everyone else bitching about him not being a finalist.
For the record, I think that he got the hose

Who is "He"? Wing? I hope he has bigger things to worry about.

While it's only Wikipedia, I don't see any distinct criteria.
And not to say it doesn't exist, but I haven't found any other site with criteria on it.
quote:
Nominees are evaluated on their overall statistics and contribution to the team. Particular emphasis is placed on the following statistics: net average, percentage of total punts inside the 20-yard line, and percentage of punts not returned. The Ray Guy Award winner is determined by a national selection committee of football writers, FBS college coaches, sports information directors, and past Ray Guy Award winners. The winner must display team leadership, self-discipline, and have a positive impact on the team’s success. [

That's just not my cup of tea, to see a player (especially a freshman) do that. He is a great punter, and should play in the NFL one day, but humility is a good trait. He isn't Deion.

the twitter world is blowing up about Brad wing not making it. I'm sure it will get around to SVP tomorrow and he will talk about it.
Even all the NFL players are laughing because he didn't make it
