Since the other thread that actually provided good info on this topic was brilliantly anchored, I’ll take a second to mention it here. I know you already know this.
Using MLB numbers, the only time there is an advantage to sacrifice an out to advance runners is with 1st and 2nd with nobody out. But that is to score one run only, not multiple runs.
Now your average college defense is not as statistically good as your avg MLB defense on balls in play, so it can still be arguably defendable to do so, but the old school by the book mindset is just flat out wrong.
And this is coming from a lifelong old school recently reformed student of the game.

Yep. Bunting is almost always bad when you’re talking high level college ball or professional baseball. The numbers don’t lie

1st and 2nd no outs with Duplantis and Cabrera... I’m taking my chances there and not bunting. It didn’t work. Play that scenario 10 times and i bet Duplantis hits into a double play once.

This scenario before that at bat And you put the over/under at .5 double plays and I would have taken the under. He hit a rocker right at the second baseman and it was still a bang bang play at first.
The double play happened so CPM gets crushed but If Duplantis bunted I’m guessing they walk Cabrera so you are relying on Watson and DiGiacomo to bat .500 to tie the game.

Failing 70 percent of the time is the norm.
You keep saying this, but:
1. Duplantis hasn’t hit under .300 in his career, and
2. This doesn’t take into account walks, HBP, errors, sac flies, all of which would have been positive things here.
So, it’s probably much closer to 60/40, with the odds of a double play being astronomically low.

Only bunt if you think the ab will result in a strikeout, which if that’s the case you should hit someone else. You are almost guaranteed to get out with a sac bunt. Swinging away you have a much higher probability of having a result that doesn’t end with an out

Whether or not he should’ve bunted, this might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Plenty of other reasons to bunt, other than he might strike out.
