Anytime you see Les with headsets on, LSU is in trouble!

WOW! Then why have we read reports from people like Kleinpeter, et al that Cam builds his offensive scheme around the QB vs fitting the QB into his system? If we are calling mostly running plays, it's because the bet QB we have can't throw very well. And don't forget, some of the running plays were actually called pass plays that were either sacks or tuck and run. I am not convinced that Miles is overruling Cam on this front. Their relationship is a lot different than previous coordinators. Just Sayin'

Source? Did the coordinators say this? players? If anything, I've heard Miles has/gives input, but the coordinator is the one who decides.

jesus fricking christ.

the coaches have 20 hours a week to practice. andrew luck probably spends 20 hours a day going over this stuff. if you think cameron brought the thousand page playbook that he used for philip rivers and handed it to jennings, youre mistaken. there is absolutely no possible way for LSU, which pretty much has a new team every 2 years, to learn and run the same system as an NFL team.

I cant believe I even had to say that.

NFLers have about the same amount of practice time, but the collective bargaining agreement mandates only one full contact practice a week. Pretty sure college teams can have full contact practices more often if they want.

The biggest difference between college and professional football players is that it is the pro's job to prepare themselves, but the collegiate athlete has classes to deal with not JUST football, so obviously playbooks and offensive complexity can expand for pros.

Yes they can run a prostyle system, but not with the same complexity.

So I agree with part of what you are saying here, but disagree that Pro players practice more than college players. They just have more personal free time in season and have a responsibility to do a job.

College programs that demonstrate consistency with success such as LSU demands a level of preparation done during personal time and accountability during practice/games to know their role and execute.

Unfortunately LSU's players look like they need a wake up call on preparation and execution. Hopefully MSU was that wake up call. I am pissed about the game saturday, but realize that Jennings is just not able to accurately throw intermediate routes with consistency. I don't entirely blame play-calling although the conservative game plan looked much worse with Jennings missing open WRs when Les and Cam attempted passing plays.

Let's hope Les and co. improve because if not, it's gonna be a long season.

seems like Miles took control of the playbook once we plugged Jennings in.

You're not even trying now. Did you watch the Florida game last year? We went right back to Miles ball. Guys were open that game but Mett was off. That's what happens when you switch up the offense so drastically. We went from Cam offense, to 2010 offense in that game.

And in regards to the UF game... the game plan was to run the ball and dominate the TOP. They were on their 3rd string QB and just flat out had a crappy offense. But, their D was very good with some great DBs

Their defense was not very good and I alluded to that with a post the week leading up to that game. We had WRs and TEs running open a lot in that game and Mett was just missing them. He seemed like he got out of whack when we completely switched up the offense.

Mizzu played right after us and lit UF the frick up! That secondary was intact in both games.

you act is if they got on campus and immediately hit the field. when they got here doesnt change the fact that they only have 20 hours a week, 4 months a year, to practice. learning an offense isn't hard, it's just time consuming, it's endless repetition, it's running the same thing over and over and over, and there just aren't enough hours to master some huge playbook.
