Finally someone (Govenor Jeff Landry) is breaking up the James Carville / LSU / Anti-Trump-Charlie Kirk faction at LSU.

That's a good thing.
Yes, I agree, but don't let your mouth and ego get in the way of LSU HIRING THE BEST COACH AVAILABLE!

Louisiana has nothing but LSU, Great Food, NOLA historical tourism and Mardi Gras.

That's it!

LSU JUST HAS TO BE GREAT IN FOOTBALL EVERY YEAR!

Good. At least he won't be wearing LSU gear when he makes a fool out of himself on National TV.

Carville has an opportunity to unite the LSU fan base. Him burning his LSU degrees AND Landry being hit for libel are win/wins for all of us.

I did not know anything about Woodward’s politics before this, and that’s fine. It’s how it should be.

Woodward’s political leanings have been fairly obvious to many, and are part and parcel with the dirty undercarriage of the JBE BOS that was in place in recent years.

Now that the pendulum has finally swung the other way, half of this board has lost its mind.

Governor’s throwing their weight into university decisions is not a new phenomenon, and has preceded all of our lifetimes.

What we must recognize, is that the current Governor and LSU itself are simply continuing to do doing what has always been done here, going back to Huey Long sneaking building Tiger Stadium in as part of a dormitory construction project.

Left leaning ESPN sides with the left, as they are inclined to do. LSU was never one of their “darlings” anyway, and we have a conservative Governor making statements, so they can’t resist admonishing us to the full extent of their ability.

The fact that the Governor ultimately does indeed dictate policy to LSU athletics, whether directly or indirectly, is certainly an uncomfortable truth, and we can possibly all agree that it shouldn’t be so, but it’s been this way forever.

To deny that, or to try make this latest instance bigger than it has to be is mendacious, or downright political grandstanding in and of itself.

I too, wish we could somehow have the utopian “perfect” apolitical athletic department, but you know what they say about wishes.

Yet, we have managed to win three national championships with this broken system, in spite of ourselves. The Tigers are absolutely going to do it again. We will recover quickly from the recent turmoil. Brighter days are in the near future. Believe it.

Enough of the doom and gloom.

Can we PLEASE, get back to sports on this board?
