So happy for Beloso, but maybe more happy for LSU. I didn’t think he was coming back at all, then just figured with the logjam at 1st and DH, he’d be a glorified mascot, maybe getting the occasional midweek ABs. He’s already produced more than I expected from him all season.
It’s crazy, but there was a real chance this team wasn’t going to have either Beloso or Dugas this year. At the end of last season, I’d say it was actually likely. But not only are they great veteran leaders, they’ve been a couple of our top offense producers. These are the kind of guys that can turn a really good and talented team into a championship one. So glad it worked out for them.

To add outside of round robin tournaments most SEC teams play bad teams to start the season. So don’t complain we are playing nobodies.

Crews’ plate discipline this year—which was already great—is unbelievable. Like I said in a thread earlier, he could walk from Omaha right into the Pirates’ big league OF in June and not be out of place.
(They won’t do that, obviously, but he’s so mentally advanced along with being a freak 5-tool guy that he could probably be playing in the bigs right now. Regardless, I think his minor league career will be quite short).
