I would rather we not be in the top 4 for now.

It is really appalling and I don't know why people still allow it honestly. Every fricking year, good or bad, they're right at the top of the rankings.
ETA: I think UF should definitely be ranked ahead of Alabama. But there's a reason why Alabama is way up in the polls almost every year.

Who woulda thunk it at the start of the year. Win and we are in.

Lose and you might be in as well. Alabama is vulnerable each week. Waaaay too inconsistent on offense to be a lock to win any game. As long as y'all only have 1 loss, y'all are alive and kicking.

I do not care aBOUT bAMA, I am proud for the Tigers to get to #2 in the first playoff poll.

Oh. In that case, congrats.

Would any of you people really take Michigan State, Baylor, Iowa, FSU, or TCU over Bama???
I wouldn't take these teams over Florida, who lost by a touchdown to the #2 team in the country away. Your idiotic argument is working against you. Bama isn't a surefire thing anymore, they struggled with the Vols, they struggled with Arky, and they lost to Ole Miss.

I can't understand why there are voters deciding anyway. Let the teams earn it on the field. Just have league champions from the power 5 play in a 6 team playoff. Champion has 2 losses? Who cares! You won the power 5 conference! The wildcard goes to the highest ranked independent or non-power 5. Only one spot would be left up to biasness.

And Fla didn't?
And if you think Arky and OlePiss are bad, wait until you guys play them. These 3 teams are good neither team is dominant.

Arky lost to Toledo and Texas Tech and Ole Piss lost to Memphis. All five of those teams are frauds, my opinion won't change when or after LSU plays Arky and Ole Piss. It's embarrassing and shameful that you are trying to defend Bama's ranking.

My only point is that all three teams( BAMA, LSU, FLA) are good. But I don't think one is way above the other. It will work its self out

Pretty soon it will expand to an 8-team playoff, with the 5 conference champions getting automatic bids and 3 at-large teams. That will be pretty much perfect and will limit the incessant arguing to only 3 teams that didn't win their conference.

I would never advocate for that type of system. If the goal is to reward and match the best teams in a playoff format then arbitrarily assigning one of those positions to a conference champion will not achieve that goal.

But giving conference champs automatic bids adds certainty to the selection process (and removes the subjective nature of the selections) and rewards teams for actually winning their conference.
But you need an 8-team playoff so you can have 3 at-large teams that are still deserving but didn't win their conference.
