For most underrated 2011 recruits, I think I would go with (in order):
1) Trevon Randle
2) Micah Eugene
3) Paul Turner
4) Terrance Magee
5) Ronald Martin

And that doesn't evenmention the terrific upside of Stephen Rivers...

Magee was too good to not play qb is HS. If the dude would have been playing rb all year, he would have been invited to the AA games and cut up. I don't give a damn if he was the 40th, 10th, or the 100th rated rb in the nation. Those national guys don't have the capacity to analyze everyone, and compared to his true play, his highlight reel sucked. The guy had 100's of monster runs last year. He's not a blazer, but just has "it". I've been combing film and live games for
prospects for years and Magee was a top three back from
last years class IMO. He just never got more than local exposure.

You've got to give kudos to recruiting because Magee was only a 3 star, as was T-Raw the year before.

I don't know where to get film on him. CST should have tape of the championship game vs Karr, but I don't know if it's accessible. We rode out to about half of Franklintons home games to watch him last year and got to actually meet him after the game in the locker room. The scouting services had him listed way under weight, and the film they showed at the Bayou Bash was Willie Lyles quality. He just flew under the radar. shite happens.

ETA I can't find the quote, but I'm almost certain Miles called Magee the best offensive player in Louisiana last year. Considering we had Hilliard, Hill, OBJ, Slyve, Landry, ect in the same class, I think that speaks volumes.

I guess I'm truly a Miles hater, b/c my gut reaction to this is that Terrence Magee must be the least talented but possibly hardest working of the freshman RBs.

Mark Ingram was rated like the 58th back coming out of high school. We all see how that turned out

Franklinton vs Haughton

Miles hater or not doesn't matter. This kid is talented and was under radar if you want to go by the stars. His individual performance in the second half of this game won Franklinton the 4A championship.

Because being a hard working long time contributor worked out so well for Richard Murphy in 2010.

One day the obvious will be realized by the critiquing masses, Miles doesn't specifically love senior RBs, big RBs, or "hard working" RBs; he loves the RB that will run hard, break tackles and push the pile, because they don't have to be subbed in and out situationally, they can be counted on for whatever comes the offense's way.

LSU under Miles doesn't like situation ball carriers. When backup RBs come in, they don't usually come in to run one play, they come in to be THE RB for a series of plays. (Unless you are a specialty guy like Shep or Holliday. Murphy as our blocking RB on passing downs last year was also an exception.) LSU wants the ball carrying RB that can stay on the field and build momentum. If you are Ford in 2011 or KW in 2008, you have to show that you can run through tacklers at least nearly as well as Ware or Scott, or you will not be seen as reliable enough on 1and10 and 3and1 to win the starting job.

Thanks for the link! If you haven't seen Magee play, check him out for yourself and decide.

I was at that game. Without his feet and field vision, Franklinton was beat. He took over in the second half!

Magee is going to be a beast when all is said and done. For all of you posters that aren't from SELA Franklinton set the scoring record two years ago. Last year they broke their own record. This never would have happened without Magee at QB. The only year that he was a true RB was his freshman year. This was the year Franklinton had the Taylor brothers. I watched several games where that kid had three guys on his back and he still gained another 10 yards. He is a very hard worker, has a good head on his shoulders, and is elusive. In my opinion he's the best offensive recruit in this class. Of course Freak has to be the best on defense. The future of LSU football is looking great! Geaux Tigers!!!!

I never quite drew the conclusion before but I see now that's spot on.

We are stacked at RB. The true Freshman RB's won't play or play sparingly. Look for a redshirt.
