RC is a great coach and I always respected Southern somewhat for what he has done. Hope this meeting works out just so there is a level playing field, like another poster said I would hope the MLB would not only do it for HBCU but ohers like them.

well said, always liked RC and trust him to be doing with his time what he feels is best and where he thinks he can make a positive change.

Don't respect SU for what he does. RC clashes with the admin quite a bit because he doesn't always tow the company line. As others have said, RC is all about winning and individuals, regardless of color. Some in the SU admin do not like that.

RC is a great person and funny as hell.

I like coach Cador. Always comes across as a decent and humble man. I do have a huge problem with any action that is race specific though.

There was an article in BaseBall America bout the entry of MLB into college baseball scholarships. One of the concerns of college baseball HC's was that MLB would, much like the Federal Govt with its federal dollars, want some sayso on how the monies was to be spent...i.e. who, specifically would qualify. And the college baseball coaches association wants full control, as much from a practical sense..less "bookkeeping"...as from a pure baseball sense. The feeling being that they know best which players are deserving. This is part of the agenda that RC is involved with in these meetings.

Also there have been concerns about the big decline in American-born black MLB players over the past three decades...

Coach Cador is a class act!

There are probably next to none of these playing in the pros right now. Think you meant African-American...not many black MLB players were actually born in Africa.

Just busting your chops a little, I think what Coach Cador and crew are doing is a step in the right direction.

SU has a new great administration now. The administration in the past was horrible.

I think Coach Cador is a great human being. He is kind of like the honorable coach Eddie Robinson. He loves his players and teaches them the right way to treat others.

I have never heard a disparaging word about coach Cador and I am proud to have him and Coach Mainieri in our city.

I mean afterall, If coach Cador was only concerned about championships and his own ego, he would not be coaching at Southern. He could go to a major Division I baseball power and win big.
