This is a valid question that deserves to be asked to Coach O point blank.
It's not scheme/playcalling, it's talent and execution...DUH!
Even though LSU has one of the most talented rosters in NCAA...so it must be execution.
If it's execution, that falls on coaching! They are the ones teaching this very complex scheme of SE's day after day after day!

Expect what exactly? That is essentially where we were before he was hired. In fact, that's kind of why Miles was fired in the first place. This is getting tiresome...Orgeron being lauded for not being as bad as many thought he might be. What a backhanded compliment. FWIW, I've hated the hire form Day One, but I never thought we'd tank. Just slowly take on water and due to his local ties make even even harder to get rid of him once we realized the mistake. Not everyone...even us mean old haters...thought we'd be 6-6 this year.
This is the mindset of most rationally thinking Tiger fans. There are the to-the-death O supporters who are blinded by their agenda and lose perspective due to their bias. They think in their minds O will never do wrong.
There are the O-haters that never gave him a chance and never will. Also biased.
Then there are the folks who just want LSU to move forward. Winning 8 to 10 games is great but we also realize that we are, as Saban called us, a sleeping giant. With our recruiting base and facilities and support we are set up to compete on a regular basis for a playoff run. We were very hesitant when O was given the reigns but got on board in a wait and see attitude. Hoping he could do just what he said. Compete for titles now. Bring in the best coordinators. Revamp a stale offense.
We have found him to be disengenious. Ever changing the narrative to fit the moment. Sliding from a no rebuild, titles now mantra to a “the talent is in shambles” philosophy. Of course we appreciate the 8 wins. But holding up the low expectations coming into the year as some sort of badge of honor is ridiculous. Some were claiming 5-6 losses because O so underperformed last year.
Now here we sit again. Still with one of the worst offenses around. Our 2nd coordinator in 2 years and we likely need to go another route to improve and get back to legitimate title contenders. And does anyone trust O to make the right decision? And what will happen if he doesn’t. We’ll lose 6 next year? Not likely. Probably 2-3. Again. We’ll be on the outside looking in again. And the next 5 years? Unless O does what he said and truely allows an offensive makeover that will likely be his legacy. Until he goes the way of Miles and we have to start again.

The SEC west has 4 defenses that are top ten in the country!! I don't care about statistics from teams from other conferences because you can't name 10 defenses better than Bama, LSU, MS St and Auburn.

No, but they are in the SEC. That does matter. In any case if he cannot beat the gumps what else matters...?

No. You’re in a league by yourself with that thought. I’m just going to let you keep it.

We're 8-2. We've lost to an historic Bama team and Florida at the Swamp.
We've beaten Georgia, Auburn, MSState. Our schedule has been regarded as one of the toughest in the country... BY THE COMMITTEE. Maybe everyone sucks?
Everyone needs to calm the frick down. Seriously.

it is the toughest division in the toughest conference in college football, so there is that. Got to laugh at the extremes people go to try to make LSU look bad. Got a bunch of babbling turkeys on this board.

So you both can look like morons? You'd both be whining all the same if we had arks, miss st, Florida for sure, Georgia who's unable to score on us, Kentucky, anm, south carolina, or mizzus offense. Why do you morons think everyone else is amazing and we're trash? And to answer your question, the o line has major issues and is being addressed next season. Very fricking simple.

I give O full credit to getting the team up and winning games he should be winning minus UF.
The offense is an albatross however.
This offense is worse now than they were from the beginning to the middle of the year. Arky is soooo bad on D and we made them look decent.
Which tells me that once LSU started the season other coaches didn’t know what we were going to look like from a playcalling standpoint.
Now, there is more than enough film out there and LSU makes no adjustments. The players look worse now. And don’t give me that “schedule got harder” nonsense. If you are gonna beat your chest over wins over Miami and AU, then the schedule is just as tough now.
LSU is a punchline on O. Arky just didn’t learn to play D over a couple of weeks. And you can’t always count on your D to create an exceptional turnover differentials. Some games you are just going to have to beat teams your O vs their D.
And I don’t want O fired. That’s nonsense. However, SE deserves walking papers along with some other Offensive staff members.

“SEC west”
This is nice and all and congrats to the team and staff, but failing to acknowledge what’s going on in the West programs since 2015 is more than a little shortsighted.
Old Miss and Arkansas were both runner ups in 2015 to Alabama and those 2 combined for 18 wins that season. Anyone want to tell me what happened to those 2 programs since that time! Pretty much the same with A@M.
I’m more than a little bit more interested in what we had done against Bama and (Florida) in the last three years than I am with what we have done against struggling SEC West teams. Certainly, the two wins against Auburn are nice statements

Bro, that was about 20 years ago. We need to stop living in the past and decide how we can compete in the present.

Wasn't a lie...I wasn't focused specifically on the record but on the losses to BAMA. While I certainly would not include his interim stint (funny how that is only included when it benefits his record but not when you use it to suggest he's not merely a second year coach) it is a higher percentage overall than Miles' last few seasons. Did not mean to imply those were exact...
FTR, from 2013 through his 2 SEC games in 2016, Miles was 15-11 overall in the SEC and 10-10 in the SECW.
My focus was on the fact that Miles was let go for being unable to get back into contention for the SECW title, which means there was no longer any real ability to win hardware. And...that has been the case still with Orgeron. So long as LSU is an also ran in our own division, we will remain where we were when Miles was fired...and why Miles was fired.
People want to now suggest that making it a one game season is not the way to go...but in the case of us an AU, it REALLY IS a one game season. Unlike any other programs in the country, we are both privileged enough to be in a position to compete for titles regularly AND burdened by having to beat BAMA to do anything meaningful. Neither of our programs can take a loss and then hope that BAMA loses two in order to get to Atlanta anymore. So...we either build a program fro top down that can compete with them, or we admit we can;t and lower our expectations accordingly.
