So, we rushed three, had EIGHT dropped back into coverage, and you think we should have had fewer people back in coverage to prevent the 50-yard pass?

The funny thing is Jones picked the wrong guy to throw to the guy in the middle of the field had no one on him and only had to beat the safety. What I don't understand is Arkansas sent two deep on that play and LSU only rushed 3 yet there was only a safety and a corner on the guy that caught the pass and an Ark reciever running completely free down the middle away from the deep safety that helped on the reciever that caught the ball. Where were the other 6 guys?

we didn't rush anyone which was completely different from the first 3 quarters and most of the 4th. All of the sudden no pressure two plays 81 yards. Maybe we should have sent somebody.

Yes, in hindsight, that might have worked better, but at least there's a reasonable logic behind dropping everyone deep into coverage. A play that turned out badly isn't automatically a coaching blunder. A coaching blunder is when the decision makes absolutely no sense under any circumstances, like stopping the clock for Ohio State to avoid a sack and presumably preserve field position when you're planning to take a safety on the next play anyway, or throwing a pass when you can just kick a chip shot FG from inside the 10 to win (no, not a jab at Miles vs. Auburn, I agreed with his decision on that play) because you don't want to play for a tie.

that would be the current staff, but what were the coaching blunders, specifically, like he laid out in the OP?

2004 LSU vs Auburn.

Randall takes us down the field on the first drive and we easily score. Next drive, he takes Randall out and puts Jamarcus in. There was no need for it. The rhythm was gone.

Already said that one, but yeah.

UAB is definitely one of the most embarrassing....i don't care what the state of the team is.

the state of the team matters as does what happens after. I doubt anyone at Bama cares about the ULM game anymore.

Damn Tuna Melt? I hate Tuna Melt.

Anyway, I was pointing out to H-Town Tiger that fans DO in fact remember specific games, regardless of were we/they are as a program.

speaking of coin toss mix ups, i remember game, not for sure on the year but i know it was against miss st. They won the toss, and our game captain justin vincent chooses to kick after miss st had deferred. Miss st started with ball for both halves.
