The same could be said for Luke Sanders, although I don't know that he's any better than any of the LBs we have now.

Saban did this with Eric Alexander too - totally wasted his redshirt year. We could've used him in '04.

i don't think he'd help our pass D out much. that's our biggest problem area

yeh but it never hurts to have another veteran on the field.

I do. I don't think he'd bite up on short stuff as much as the other 2 have and maybe give better deep help. And yes I remember the busted coverage he had against UF.

he was a field general and put people in the right place all the time...he would have been huge this year, as the talent is there, but they just don't know what to do..i think they are starting to come around though..did anyone else realize that Danny McCray did the same thing against Alabama? Don't underestimate the presence of a field coach..not as athletic but puts the def in the right schemes..Steltz 2007, Hunt 2004..

our communication problems this year are due to the DCs, not the players

curtis taylor is a RS Senior who tries to have everyone lined up right, but the new DCs just have weird sub patterns and don't get in the play quickly enough.

Disagree, Taylor is the one that is lined up wrong most of the time...and is ALWAYS out of position to make the play over the top

Can't help wonder what if Steltz's redshirt hadn't been wasted by Saban, how the 2008 team would have done with an All-American playing at Safety..

Like night and day.

Ask Les Miles why he hasn't recruited a smart Steltz type at Safety since he 's been here. He only recruits for speed and athleticism in the secondary. GOT to have at least one smart guy back there that knows the defense backwards and forwards to make all the calls and make sure all the DB's know their assignments and aren't "Chinese Fire Drill" confused like we have seen all year. Jack Hunt served in that role for Saban and now without an adequate replacement for Steltz, you see the results......

You meant to say "Like black & white" :racist:

Adjusting to a New Defense and being young & athletic, does not equal dumb.

Be sure to wear your pillow case next time.

Les, 2 questions:

1 - why didn't Luke Sanders ever measure up to his recruiting hype?
2 - why do you hate Luke Sanders?

I say we move Hatch to safety so he can line all those athletes up correctly

I assumed everyone knew 2007 Safety - Craig Steltz was a consensus 1st Team All-American & 1st team All-SEC Safety last year.

No question about it, especially after winning a NC.
