If we have another day like today, it’s not going to matter what the culture is like. Everyone can reassure themselves however they need to, but today was one of the worst days in the history of the program. One more of these days in the next couple of years would put us back in the 90s.

While the downvotes are rolling in, chew on this take. I am not sure this new coach and administration have any idea how to navigate the new recruiting world of NIL. Early returns are extremely terrible. It appears we are clueless now and if there is not drastic improvement we will be toast. Have a wonderful evening.

Folks on here need to be realistic about where we are at right now. We just got completely raided on in state recruiting. We may not have enough players to play in a Jan 4th bowl game and have no QB. This thing is a flaming dumpster rolling down a seven lane highway right now.

I don’t agree with this idea. Play the bowl game, we need the practice, get our staff hired, hit the transfer portal, sign the best players we can in February, and start a new chapter of LSU history. Things will stabilize and work out. The cupboard is not bare and if we have quitters on the team then they need to move on down the road.

It absolutely is a “culture” change. Our teams from the last two years have not played with the passion we are used to seeing at LSU, have been constantly confused, apathetic and have “opted out” or been injured at a higher rate than any team in the SEC. You are crazy not to feel the selfishness and sense of entitlement in our players. I agree that CBK hates to lose talented players like Ricks but I bet he does more with slightly less talent that plays hard, puts team first and is all in on the system. I’m OK with losing talented but soft players. Culture is a real thing and you will see a harder working and classier version of LSU football moving forward.

Ricks was/is trash. Maybe Kelly could have made him straighten up; maybe Saban will. I am perfectly comfortable seeing Ricks leave. I think it’s best for LSU that he’s gone.

After a conversation with two current players, I assure you a culture change is occurring. The vast majority welcome it, but there are some that will be weeded out over the next year.
It was absolutely needed and is absolutely happening.
